Thailand Praised As A Role Model for Multicultural Society

BANGKOK (NNT) - The Secretary-General of the Muslim World League commended Thailand as a role model for multicultural society and expressed his support for the Thai Government’s efforts to promote diversity.

 

According to a release from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, H.E. Dr. Mohammad bin Abdulkarim Al-Issa, Secretary-General of the Muslim World League, paid an official visit to Thailand as a guest of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs from February 14 to 18, 2022. The visit marks the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s first official visit to Thailand since diplomatic relations were normalized.

 

The Secretary-General of the Muslim World League paid courtesy calls on His Holiness the Supreme Patriarch of Thailand, Prime Minister Gen Prayut Chan-o-cha, President of the National Assembly and Speaker of the House of Representatives, and other diplomats in the country during his visit. He delivered a keynote presentation address on “The Importance of Alliance of Civilizations” at Chulalongkorn University and a special lecture on “Generosity and Inter-Religious Relations” at the Central Islamic Council of Thailand. The Secretary-General was awarded an Honorary Doctorate Degree from Fatoni University at the Al Meroz Hotel in Bangkok in recognition of his contributions to the international Muslim community.

 

According to the MFA, the Secretary-General praised Thailand as a model for multiculturalism and expressed his support for the Thai government’s efforts to promote a multicultural society, in which people of different religions can coexist peacefully and harmoniously. The visit also contributes to a better understanding of interfaith dialogues and tighter cooperation between the Thai government and the Muslim World League.

 

Thailand also welcomed the previous Secretary-General of the Muslim World League on two occasions, in 2007 and 2012.

Clearly the Secretary-General  has a very limited understanding of the concept of multiculturalism, and an ever more limited understanding of the ethnic reality of Thailand.

Huh? I have heard of kissing butt before, but this takes it to new levels. His holiness? The supreme partiarch? Hello. Am I missing something here? Are the Saudis that desperate to establish some credibility on the world state, after the serial killing MBS has damaged their reputation, perhaps beyond repair? So desperate that they would put a man such as Prayuth on a pedestal? Do they know no shame? Besides being PM, do they have any idea who this guy is?

Thailand did much right in terms of successful multiculti, so no surprise there is recognition. I would say the best thing the Thai's did is they do not discriminate against Thai citizens to give jobs to unsuitable candidates who's only positive is they are not Thai. This was the major mistake the west made as it caused major resentment particularly in the workplace where workers that had trained hard and had years of experience were passed over for promotion just because they belonged to the ethnic race that traditionally inhabited the country. 

Welcome foreigners, great. But do not discriminate against the natives just because they are native.

We especially like the way they honor the expat community, cherish our diversity, and make immigration, the path to permanent residency, and our lives here so easy and effortless. 

 

We are talking about some real saints here. Thailand should be very thankful for it's current group of leaders. They are men of compassion and vision, and they are not only very smart and capable, they are progressive and exceptional. Even Anutin said that.

Probably the head of the Orthodox Church here. We know that  because Prayut is not the President of the National Assembly, nor is he the Speaker of the House of Representatives.

I find it quite disturbing and massively hypocritical that the "Secretary-General of the Muslim World League" would even dare touch on the subject of multiculturalism.

 

After all, it is precisely "the Muslim World" that has time and again shown its rejection of and contempt for multiculturalism by systematically oppressing minorities in its own countries -- with very few exceptions. "Multiculturalism" for many Muslims seems to be alright only as long as all these different cultures are submitting to Islam. The fact that the "Secretary-General of the Muslim World League" happens to be a citizen of Saudi-Arabia, one of the most rabidly fanatical stalwarts of fundamentalist Islam in the world, speaks volumes. Try living in Saudi-Arabia as a non-Muslim, non-Arab for any length of time and see how far notions of "multiculturalism" will get you there. In addition, look at the vast, vast majority of diaspora Muslims around the globe and realize how they all tend to be living crammed together in their own secluded ghettos. They want no part in the "multiculturalism" of their non-Muslim host countries.

 

Also let's see how that "multiculturalism" so highly praised by the Secretary-General is going to pan out for the Thai laborers that his country so desperately wants. I already have a hunch.

He is a saint. The great and benevolent leader has already insured happiness.
 
He is lowering unemployment.
He is growing the economy.
He is doing everything in his power to open the country up again, and increase tourism revenue.
He is increasing exports.
He is abiding by all of the terms of the ASEAN charters he signed, and allowing the duty free importation of all beer throughout ASEAN. Bintang, Beer Lao, Bia Saigon, Bia Huda, Bia Ha Noi, Dagon, Saigon Special, 333, are on all of the supermarket shelves as we speak. We are not longer subject to the very low quality local beers, as promised in the recent ASEAN charter, that Thailand agreed to and signed. 

He is making visa policy easy, simple and streamlined, and all tourists nad expats are very happy about that. He is working on the attitudes of government workers, and making sure they are open and friendly to both tourists, and ex-pats.
He is improving traffic and public safety.

He is working day and night to eliminate the air quality issues, that have become a catastrophe for the nation. Corruption is being eliminated, and innocent fall guys are no longer getting charged for murder, and being put to death. The taxi mafia on Samui and Phuket have been eliminated, and tourists can now get a taxi at a fair price. They are also adding multiple options of cheap public transportation on the Southern islands. 
 
Life is better for all now that this great man is demonstrating his genius and vision on a daily basis. All he cares about is the welfare of his own people, and the happiness of both tourists and the ex-pat community. He contemplates this day and night.

Last I checked, walking on water requires actual sainthood, and spiritual realization. Fake platitudes, a manufactured myth, self aggrandizement, the fooling of 2% of the population, and sycophanticism on the part of your army boys, and weak government subordinates, do not qualify for entry into the elite cadre of saints.
