Popular Post webfact
By Online Reporter The Governor of Prachuap Khiri Khan, Mr. Sathien Charoen Rian is implementing measures to improve road safety across the province. As part of a new road safety campaign launched this week (Feb 24), law enforcement and relevant agencies have been told to strictly enforce traffic and road safety regulations throughout Prachuap Khiri Khan. Particular focus will be put on those who drive while under the influence of alcohol, people driving beyond the speed limit and those riding a motorcycle without a helmet. The governor also ordered the relevant agencies to upgrade the pedestrian crossings in all of the province’s eight districts, which includes Hua Hin. Popular Post ikke1959
30 years ago I was selling travels to Thailand and our advice than was that it was safer not to cross the street on a zebracrossing but somewhere else on the street in Thailand. Since then nothing has changed. Abd drunk drivers, speeding and no helmets should be a every day crackdown for everyone, not only a few days crackdown and than back to normal... Why can other countries manage it that motorcycle drivers wear helmets?? The next crackdown should be on the prehistorical vehicles , that are driving in the middle of the road too slowly... That is very dangerous too

Popular Post 2long
Nice photo. How many civil servants does it take to watch a civil servant pretend to badly paint the road just for a photo? In kindergarten they were told not to paint outside the lines! Imagine if a cop came around the corner too fast on an unregistered Ducati when they were all paying attention to this little show? 4

swm59nj
Enforcement should also include drivers going through red lights and not stopping for pedestrians at crosswalks. And I don’t mean just painting red marking across a road.

Isn’t this their job? If they were doing their job there wouldn’t have to be a particular focus on it. As always, this will change absolutely nothing.

ThaiFelix
A few years back a young kid was killed on a local school crosswalk and their was a local campaign to pacify all the concerned parents. At 2 oclock in the afternoon a team was out repainting the crosswalk with the mayor addressing several TV camera crews. An hour later they opened the road again and left. By 5 o'clock the still wet crosswalk paint had gone again due to rush hour traffic. I guess it would have been too hard to get the mayor out at 2 in the morning when traffic is light and the paint had time to dry. Most importantly the light would have been too poor at that time for the mayors TV coverage!

Will B Good
A classic case if quality assurance versus inspection. Best to get things right first time.....proper education, training and driving tests......stop people just buying licenses would be a good start.
