JEDDAH: Thailand is preparing for more tourist arrivals from Saudi Arabia following the launch of direct flights to the southeast Asian country, with three a week from Jeddah and Riyadh.

The first flight took off on Monday from Jeddah, almost three decades after all direct flights to Thailand were suspended due to downgraded diplomatic ties between the two nations.

The launch of the new flights was celebrated during a special ceremony — attended by Thai Consul General in Jeddah Soradjak Puranasamriddhi — in carrier Saudia’s international lounge (Alfursan) at King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah.

Welcome one and all, the shishas/hookahs are out of storage, the pita and the humus will be freshly prepared and the pudgy ladies of the night are all waiting...

Seeing is believing; Saudis were never banned for travelling to Thailand and had plenty of timetable options by other, indirect, airlines.
But, as the crystal ball in Bangkok's government house promises - apparently - there will be a spike of another one million tourists from the beduin source of people who can be ripped off with overpriced, double priced services by a country which has an utter hatred against anything brownish like South Asians, Africans and ........ Middle Easterners. As the "dirty farang" segment cannot be compensated that easily, the Tourism Authority of Thailand might want to work on attitude classes for the semi-divine Khon Thai - aviation alone does not help!

Lotsa of unsavoury and suspicious scratching of backs going on here....

Sales of camel scents rocketing the milked sheikhs are gagging for it and will fill the niches left by our northern neighbours. in the Diddle Kingdom .
