Hi Ubonjoe,

Insurance for re-entry permit is this one?  According to “Thailand Pass” recommended insurance has 3 différent kinds there but I need only this one to “Covid inbound Travel” to purchase?  Kind of confused about which insurance to buy and do you have any suggestion for any other agent?

thank you

It is your choice which policy you use.

You only need 30 days of insurance if using a re-entry permit and you select returning to Thailand when applying for the Thailand Pass.

The other big problem is the lack of a viable means of reporting the day 5 result. The way we got the Day 5 confinement (now revoked) in the first place was that they lacked data on Day 5 test results. In most cases it was nto that people did nto do the tests -- it was that they had no way to enter the information. Supposed to go into the Mor Chana app but this is highly dyfunctional.

I suggest after you do the Day 5 ATK you photograph the result and email it to your T&G hotel and ask them to help enter the info. The hotels seem able to do so.

Thank you @Sheryl.  I am awaiting a return phone call from BNH hospital as well who was checking on it for me, it seems they entered my arrival PCR test lab result as a test today and not on the 27th.  Such a cluster with all of the issues.  I do have ATK tests here at home and wanted to do just as you said, but then I fear being hunted down my immigration  if I did not do it exactly as needed.  Will let you know what BNH finds out as they were calling the Department of Disease control and of course BNH has all my records as I am registered there.

What about returning to Thailand on a one year retirement visa acquired within Thailand? Is insurance still required?

If you have been extending the entry from non-o visa the only insurance you would need it is the $20,000 covid 19 insurance valid for 30 days.

It was for me.  I returned on a re-entry permit for my extension of stay based upon my original OA Visa, and had to enter my PCH policy when I registered.

I applied for a Thailand pass based on day 1 and 5 tests and then again under the new rules. This is how quickly I got mine.

Day 1 and 5. Applied 27 Feb 19:25 (UK time) Received Pass 28 Feb 13:53

Day 1 only. Applied 28 Feb 17:14 (00:14 March 1 in Thailand) Received Pass 1 March 8:23.

Pretty quick. I did use QR codes for my Vaccine records which is supposed to speed things up. I did have a problem with some not being accepted. I'd printed the page and then scanned into jpg as they don't accept pdf. I also tried taking a picture of it on my phone but no luck and this seems common. In the end I realised that the contrast wasn't helping so I used Gimp which is free to slightly increase the brightness and the contrast a lot and then it worked. There's probably other simpler methods to increase contrast as well.

The other problem was an api error which I've never seen before so I don't know why it should come up with this but this is a solution that worked for me. I hope this link is ok.

The second time was a lot quicker than the first.

Step 5 is about as ambiguous as they get.  I returned this past Saturday night on the original Test N Go issued on December 11th and before the program was canceled.  I was screened at the airport upon arrival and after scanning my Test N Go QR code was sent to immigration without as much as a word about the testing to be completed or if I needed to stay a 5th night at the hotel.  I do have a slip that was required to be filled out upon arrival that says a second PCR test is required on day 5 or 6, but then it does not say much else.

After Immigration I grabbed my bags, met my sealed route transport limo and headed to the Hotel.  Once at the hotel I was given a PCR test in the parking garage and escorted to my room.  Test was done about 1 am and then it was sent to BNH hospital.  At 6:30 am I got a phone call saying my test was negative and I could eat breakfast and leave.  I asked about my second test and was told to go to BNH hospital, where my first test was taken and where I am registered since I live here in Sathorn, and have them give me an ATK test now that my second test will be after the 1st of March.  Was never given any paperwork from the hotel other than the BNH lab results for the PCR test, and a doctors certificate for the negative test results. I was told I did not need to return for a stay on the 5th night as my Test N Go approval was from before they made changes to the program after reinstating it.

I asked a second time what was required and they seemed confused.  The issue is there are three different Test and Go schemes currently working now that March 1st is here, and yet no one really knows what the heck is going on as far as the second test, a second night booking being required or just take an ATK test and send the photo to the hotel...

To say I am also a tad confused is being polite, and I have called the hospital and of corse they need to check and call me back.

Why in gods name have they not reconciled this entire program into one at this point  in time.  To many people being held to different rules and yet the new requirements do not require a 5th night or a PCR test.

My wife returned Sunday ( 28th )

She did her PCR test at the hotel and all negative.

However the hotel is insisting she still has to return & stay at the hotel on Day-5 and do a further PCR test,

I've read others mention they've been told not required whilst some are - no consistency it seems.

Possibly a bit of rush of people who have waited for the new rules. As per my other post it was quick for me but I did it at 5pm UK time as that's midnight in Thailand when they first switched.

The may be hotel wrong. In other threads (link below) some hotels have told some guests that have arrived during the ’transition’ period (i.e. Day 5 is on or after 1st March) that they don’t need to do their Day 5 Test & Go and will be given a refund.

https://aseannow.com/topic/1251768-my-day-5-hotel-has-said-i-no-longer-need-a-day-5-due-on-33/

Thus, Pmbkk, is your hotel simply attempting to wiggle out of paying a refund ?

This is a bit of a farce... I don’t think there is going to be any issue not turning up for a day 5 Test & Go so long as you take an ATK and upload it (somehow).

The issue of course is hotels not wanting to refund (another reason to book with Agoda ‘easy cancel’).

When I entered under the first T&G program last December my hotel told me to replace my Morchana profile picture with a picture of the ATK result beside my passport title page.  That's what I did.  I have extended my visa twice since without problems.  No one has come to get me, yet.

The question is when was her Test N Go approved.  My approval was from the initial Test N Go applications which they suspended applying for and then when reinstated it there was the requirement for a night 5 stay and a test.  My Test and go was for only 1 night and a test with the second test to be done on day 6 or 7 with no further stays in a hotel.  Still trying to get BNH hospital to ascertain if its a PCR test or an ATK test I need to take on the 3rd.  They have been calling around and getting different answers apparently from the Disease Control folks and MOPH.  Maybe by tomorrow I will know more as my second test is supposed to also be paid for by the government......

I'm curious if the 5th day ATK test must be done at a clinic or hospital instead of using a self test kit. My guess is that it does. I remember the initial Test & Go they gave travelers a self test kit. I know that for entry into the US, the ATK test must be done at a hospital or clinic which is why I'm guessing this may be the same requirement for the current version of Test & Go. Aren't we up to version 4.0 now?

Version 1: Second COVID test via self test kit on day 5 - 7 provided by the hotel at check-in.

Version 2: Second COVID test via free PCR at government or university hospital (or clinic) on day 5 - 7.

Version 3: Second COVID test via 5th day hotel SHA++ hotel with one night stay and PCR test for a significant cost.

Version 4: Second COVID test via ATK - details TBD.

Can you use foreign insurance company for entry requirement instead of Thai company?

The ATK is given to you by the hotel when you arrive and the cost of it is included along with the RT-PCR test.

It is not clear who you report the results of the ATK to. I think you will be informed by the hotel or others about it when you enter the country.

I was not given an ATK test by the hotel and was instead told to contact one of the government approved hospitals the government was subsidizing for those who arrived on the Original Test N Go.  I contacted the hospital that did my PCR test, BNH and they indicated, after a day of them phoning around for me, that I had to find a hospital that was approved for the free 2nd test as BNH was not and if I took the test there it would be 2k baht.  I have called the hotel back and they are as confused as I am at this point, do I do an ATK test at my home and send a photo to the hotel coordinator or take a PCR test at the hospital.  Confusion reigns supreme as they can not just reconcile it all with the new requirements as of March 1st, such a cluster.

I was only stating what the Thailand Pass site states now for the test and go  as of yesterday.

"Paid AQ / SHA Extra+ hotel reservation confirmation for 1 day (Day 1), and the booking must include the fee for 1 RT-PCR test, 1 ATK self-test kit and airport transfer."

I was not discounting what you wrote I was adding my situation and to see if someone knew what the situation truly is on the ground...

Was just advised by the hotel that I stayed at on the 27th and had the first test done, that a second test is not required except for one to do an ATK test at home and keep the results if asked for them.  Seems kind of strange with what has occurred in the past with folks not testing or leaving before the results came in.  Of course I am not a tourist and I am sure that they can find me at my house if they need to.  To be on the safe side I will photo my test and send it as an attachment to the hotel I stayed at......what a total cluster.

I found out, it was because I'm based in Switzerland and there where some isuesses with the IP-Adress. My friend in Thailand was also able to connect; if he tries with Swiss-IP by VPN no chance.
Same problem today with paying the Test&Go-Hotel. Was not able to pay from here. Always an error! My friend did ther payment for me, without problems.

Not sure what the reaso is, or the system has a problem with foreigner IP-Adresses or we are already affected by the cyper-war, startet by Russians after the sanctions.
