I have not been following the recent rules on flying back into thailand and the covid requirements. What are the current rules when flying into bkk. Do we have to do quarantine in a hotel on our return to Thailand? I assume a PCR test a day before flying here is still required. Is that it? Whats the website in order to apply to get entry back here?

Going back home might be complicated, if detected positive before departure from the UK or on arrival. 

One positive within you family might mean quarantine for the rest.

Rules are liberalised almost every month, so worth to wait several more months, when risk would be minimal.
