Opinion: It is time Thais end the practice of demanding dowries from prospective spouses

No reason to get rid of or consider it a scam.

It is more symbolic and the money is just returned.  More of a proof of assets thing.

Only people getting scammed are the type who love pattaya and give their life savings to a bar girl.

Tradition, regardless of it's features, doesn't go over very well with outsiders whom really don't understand the multiple facets.

It’s Thailand, of course it’s a money making scam. Couldn’t be anything else.

I'm sure all here had their dowries returned after the morning ceremony as it's just like aluminium cans tied to the bumper (it's in the spirit of wedding day activities and it's not meant to be a permanent).   ????

I am expecting a sinsod to be paid to myself.
She always says I am handsome and I will take the burden off her parents hands.

Educated, good looking, charming, hmmm.
How much should i ask for?
