Seeking scent free laundry detergent.

Recommended Posts

I just bought some scent-free detergent at Makro. It's one of the generic  house brands: savepak. Very inexpensive and works well. The packaging doesn't indicate it's scent free but it is.

So far no success finding scent free detergent.

Haven't gotten to all the businesses mentioned here yet.

Anyone have a suggestion for a scent free soap?

Can say we have used Pao for the last 30 years and wife is very sensitive to any smells and Silver Nano line has none for her or me.

What do people with sensitive skin use for fabric softener here? I've yet to see any scent free fabric softener. How do you get fluffy and non-scratchy towels?

Buy good quality  towels

Well my experience with the Pipper detergent is because its a liquid it does not last very long.....It works great for regular washing but lacks the firepower needed for really dirty stuff.......I tried it for a shampoo and, man my hair never felt cleaner.......So I think I will just keep using it as a hair shampoo and not a detergent..

Our requirement is scent free laundry, we do not care if the detergent has a scent as long as it is gone after a good rinse and sun dry.  In 30 years we have never had any difficulty finding satisfactory detergents which leave no scent as from a number of posts have many others.

Most Thai detergent is loaded to the gills with horrible scents....Many so bad that no amount of rises will ever get the smell out....Even the not so bad ones require a few rises........I have thrown brand new just opened bags of laundry detergent in the trash more than a few times because of the smell...... Its a sad situation...

Yes it is since you are unable to find what others seem to be able to do fairly easily even after they have provided you with specific brands and photos of products that meet the no scent requirement.

Ok I gave this detergent a good test.........And I must say I am pretty happy with it......Thank you Lopburi3 for this gem......

This detergent cleans very very well, and with a 2nd rise and a few hours in the sun, I can hardly detect any smell....Maybe only the slightest whiff of a smell but that's it....

I actually love this detergent and Big C has loads of it....

If using a top loader (Japanese type) the normal top loading version is much, much better than other name detergents at not leaving residue on outside of drum.

Eureka!

Found Seventh Generation non-scented products in town.

Just posted this in a Chiang Mai/Health Food Store thread:

I found one listed in Happy Cow and visited it a few days ago:

J. Imboon

Chang Phueak, Super Highway Rd 11 (at Photharam Rd), Chiang Mai, Thailand

0930 - 1830 Wed - Mon

053 216 595

Huge Store, loaded with Vegetarian and Vegan food, Soaps, Detergents, Cleaning and Body products, as well as Buddhist and decorative items.

No fresh produce, no non-frozen refrigerated foods.

Extensive stock.

Veg. heaven for those into mock meats (not me).

I did find Seventh Generation scent free liquid laundry detergent (also have a natural scented version) as well as other washing/cleaning products from this company, scented and not.

I am using iHerb for this.

Using their Search for "Vegan unscented (or "nonscented") soap", a decent number of choices.

Well I think I have found an extremely good combination of cleaners..

As I posted about above I now use this detergent in the picture below.....It cleans good and has very little smell....Avalable at Big C  .....

I now mix this detergent with Sodium Tripolyphosphate (STPP).....No smell....

Some history of STPP

https://cen.acs.org/articles/89/i4/Goodbye-Phosphates.html

STPP was the wonder ingredent that made detergents clean so well in the past..That they dont use any more.....Its a super cleaner......Lazada has it..
