Daily News reported that comment was rife online after a post about what happened to a diner at a leading Shabu restaurant. It was not named of course, a symptom of defamation laws in Thailand. The diner said they had gone to the machine for some Mocca and noticed cockroach legs in their drink. Seeing other people use the machine the diner went back for a milk tea - there were even more insect legs in that one! Picture: Daily News Complaints to the admin page of the restaurant got an apology but little else. They said that the restaurant had just sprayed and the insects probably got inside the machine as they tried to get away from the spray. No compensation was offered. No check on the machine was in the offing. They just said that the staff were new and would be better trained to handle customer complaints in the future.
