A Thai footballer has been sacked after carrying out a shocking attack on a rival player.

Aitsaret Noichaiboon, who plays for Bangkok FC in Thailand’s third tier launched a brutal Muay Thai style elbow on Supasan Ruangsuphanimit from Bangkok University FC during a game on Sunday.

Noichaiboon, was sacked a short time after being shown a red card over the incident.

During the last minute of the match, with Bangkok FC trailing 3-0, Ruangsuphanimit could be seen kicking out at Noichaiboon as the players challenged for the ball.

Saw it last night on the news.....one hell of a smack......the one punch kill type.

Hollywood has a lot to answer for.

What does "sacked" mean in the story's context? Lifetime ban? Writings in some of these posts make me want the scribes sacked.

Saw it on Twitter yesterday. It was in the UK press as well, a lovely image of Thai sportsmanship. The guy definitely has some Muay Thai skills but should be charged with assault in addition to being sacked.

No place for that on a football pitch. Clean him out in the next 50/50 by all means but don't sucker punch (or in this case elbow) him.

Another one with serious anger management problems. The public need to be made safe from people such as this. I don't care in which country it happens.

It's puzzled me for decades how someone can assault someone on a field of play and get away with it, while if it happened, say, outside of a pub on a Saturday night the guy would be up in court on Monday.

Very true.......rugby was (is?) 10 times worse for people taking chunks out of each other.

Nothing shocking in that footage...the only shocking part was 7 other players not joining in when the bloke was on the deck.
