The Hua Hin Marathon 2022, which was due to take place on May 8, has now been canceled, it has been confirmed.

 

After a meeting held with municipal officials on Friday (Mar 25), Mr. Suraphon Rakkusol, Advisor to the Preserve Hua Hin Club under the royal patronage of Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn, announced the cancellation of Hua Hin Marathon 2022.

The meeting discussed both the positive and negative impact of canceling the event.

 

However, there were concerns with regards to the safety of runners and the general public due to COVID-19.

Oh no, what shall I do  (phew)

Spread fear and scare for what??

An open air running event in May!

They seem to have zero trust in their Covid handling.

????So they can let up on restrictions for incoming tourist who have sit crammed together in a flight for hours but running in a group where distance to your next should be the last worry for people pushing them self trough a Marathon is a no no???? But well today sports events seems anyway more to be  about getting a t-shirt and selfies than the sport itself so yes in a way I can see the concern to the organizer.
