Harry2 Posted March 26, 2022 Posted March 26, 2022 I have done this successfully in Bangkok the last 3 years based on B65,000 transfers each month. I now have to do this in Pattaya for the first time & wondered if anyone had recent experience of their document requirements. Any tips very welcome. I have booked an appointment via their Internet appointment service & believe I show a printout of the appointment at the entrance rather than join the queue. In Bangkok I got copies of each monthly FX transfers of B65,000 (all FTT designated) from Bangkok Bank HQ & then a letter confirming 12 transfers totalling the required amount. Is anything else required (aside from normal forms & copies etc) here in Pattaya? I don’t have a pension so transfer from savings. This is my main concern, in Bangkok I don’t have to prove my ‘pension’ source the Bangkok Bank docs do the job, is that the case here? Other than that I understand they want property/rental details. I have a rental contract - mine is monthly so I have March’s, plus passport copy of owner.
DrJack54 Posted March 26, 2022 Posted March 26, 2022 (edited) OP, I will be interested in the replies from guys that deal with that office. Understand fully your concerns as you don't have that word "PENSION" in your docs. Some immigration offices want that. As for your lease etc.....you have changed address from Bangkok so you will require a TM30. Clearly it does not suit you to use money in bank method, however that solves all. Popular Post scubascuba3 Posted March 26, 2022 Popular Post Posted March 26, 2022 Forget the online appointment system at Jomtien, they ignore it. If all the transfers are FTT then you don't need backup supporting docs for each transfer 3
DrJack54 Posted March 26, 2022 Posted March 26, 2022 OP, you may find some info in this thread. However not recent. 1
dddave Posted March 26, 2022 Posted March 26, 2022 As another pointed out and I can confirm from Wednesday last, the appointment system is ignored. I knocked on the entry door and was sent to the line. They are really finicky about dates of bank documents. I was doing my retirement extension by B800K deposit but was thwarted by a number of issues never encountered at Chang Wattana. 1
Popular Post Longwood50 Posted March 26, 2022 Popular Post Posted March 26, 2022 I can only share my experience. I also use Bangkok Bank and transfer my pension into Transferwise convert to baht and then post. I am careful to always include the reason for the transfer being "long term" in Thailand so it gets coded as a foreign transfer. I went to Jomtien immigration in February for my third extension. I had two letters from Bangkok bank. The first one verified my account, and its balance. The second was a list of the 12 monthly transfers, the dates, and the amounts of the transfers. The immigration officer seemed most interested and excited to see that. I gave him the 1 year Bangkok bank statment and copies of my bank book. He didn't even look at them relying solely on the bank letter as verification. I had the remainder of the typical items, copy of passport, arrival card, 90 day report, map of living location, letter from my GF that I am living at her residence, and a copy of an old certificate of residence. He paid scant attention to any of them only including the copies I provided. I paid the 1,900 baht and was out the door in about 15 minutes. 2 1
Harry2 Posted March 26, 2022 Author Posted March 26, 2022 dddave. Thanks what dates were required for your bank docs, firsst of the month to end month? Longwood50. Thanks. I use the identical method for transfer that you do -all my monthly's are FTT via Wise. I went to Bkk Bank HQ to get confirmation of transfers - I got a copy of each monthly FX transfer & a letter that set out the total paid over the period, ie not handily divided into monthly payments as per your letter. (CW is happy with this but maybe not Jomtien?)

(CW is happy with this but maybe not Jomtien?) Mine was at Jomtien. Last year they looked closely at the bank book and monthly statement from Bangkok bank checking off each transfer. This year with Bangkok Bank printing the second letter that listed each monthly transfer, he didn't even bother to look at my bank books, copies of them, or the annual statement. 1

Also source of income was not asked for? For example evidence of pension etc

Once he saw the bank letter with the 12 monthly transfers, he skimmed through the remaining papers. 1 1

chilly07 Posted March 28, 2022 Posted March 28, 2022 (edited) Your ok on collecting monthly credit advices but you'll still need BB to certify all 12 on one letter plus a transaction on the day you apply. They do like to see your bankbook but have only once asked me the source of funds eg pension for which I used P60 tax declarations. They do like a copy of your tenancy agreement plus your landlords ID which as landlords we always overwrite " for proof of residence for Immigration" to prevent misuse. Used their appointment system last July and walked straight up to the family desk but then it was QueQ not the national system Edited March 28, 2022 by chilly07
Mansell Posted March 28, 2022 Posted March 28, 2022 (edited) The Immigration lady officer wanted a letter from SS in the USA saying it was a pension. I got a letter from the Philippines SS which didn’t really do the job. So I printed out my emails to them and back, and showed them to the lady….I don’t believe she could read English and just accepted them….and then all done. Just agree with what they want, and then supply them with lots of nonsense paper. Edited March 28, 2022 by Mansell Misinformation.
Harry2 Posted March 29, 2022 Author Posted March 29, 2022 Thanks for everyone who responded. I took the docs I had prepared as if going to CW - annual letter from bank HQ, copies of each FX transfer note & matching bank book - to Jomtien. I was firmly told the only thing they wanted was a bank letter confirming each monthly transfer. Helpfully the lady provided me with a sample to copy & show at nearby Bkk Bank (see below). This I did and thankfully they agreed to do it for B100. They prefer a day to produce it but I managed to get it mid afternoon. Back to Immigration & with the magic letter my other documents got a cursory check (no proof of pension requested!) & I paid up B1900 & was told to come back to collect in 2 days.
