The last couple of times I got my one year extension of permit to stay, immigration put a stamp in my passport reminding me that I need a re-entry permit if leaving the country during the validity of my extension (and to do 90-day reports).

You could check your passport to see if there's such a stamp in it.

You can get a single or multiple re-entry permit. 1,000 Baht for single and

3,800 Baht for multiple, as far as I'm aware.

The cost is 1k baht for a single use re-entry stamp.  Unless your going out and in more than that yu can get a ME re-entry stamp but i am unsure of the cost...

The re-entry stamp keeps your extension of stay alive should you leave and then return before the extension expires.

Read question from uj.

You either have a one year extension to a non O or indeed a ME non O.

I would guess the former. In which case just buy a reentry permit.

Either at immigration or airport.

Do you have a multiple entry non-o visa issued by a embassy or consulate that is valid for a year and allows unlimited 90 day entries. No need for a re-entry permit if that is what you have.

Or do you actually have a one year extension of stay for for the 90 day entry from a non-o visa you you applied for at a immigration office. You will need a re-entry permit to keep your extension of stay valid when you enter the country using it.

A newbie, UJ. Do you think he followed all that???  @bluebananaGive us some indication if anything helped. Ubonjoe, Dr.Jack, etc. do deserve a thanks, at least.

Yes, a re-entry permit will be needed as long as your returning before the extension of stay expires. If it is not a extension of stay by a multiple entry Visa you can return up until the day before it expires and get stamped in for another year provided it is a ME OA visa.  A re-entry permit would not apply for a Visa AFAIK

The reentry permit can be obtained at the airport or immigration office.

I prefer airport and the process does not take long.

1000baht single reentry permit.

If you immigration office is handy you can obtain it there.

No offense but you seem bit new to the reentry permit procedure.

It's best to read up on what's required if obtaining at airport it's in office zone 2 past security check but prior to passport control.

Would you be flying out from BKK airport as your first leg.

If you're talking about a re-entry permit, I didn't get one for several years now but the last time I got one it took about five minutes.

The procedure is different at BKK and DMK airports.

If your intending to obtain reentry permit at airport just indicate that and someone will assist.

In a nutshell at BKK the office is zone 2 past security but BEFORE passport control.

At DMK it's just other side of passport control.

Advise imm officer that your obtaining a reentry permit.
