500 Baht fine  !, that's going to deter other @seholes  doing

the same , and getting their 15 mins of fame , changes to

the law needed ,peoples lives at risk .but it's going to take

an MP to die on the way to hospital ,blocked by a BMW ,Merc

or Fortuner driver .

regards worgeordie

Imho the fine should be 25 % of the price of of a similar new car. The car owner, if not the driver should also be fined 25% and the car confiscated and impounded (in a police compound where any cop can drive it) until the fine is paid.

A failed and flawed cultural system of deferment to those who do not deserve the deference.

This is from the very top down.

Sometimes, reading the replies to a post in ThaiVisa/Aseannow, I wonder how far from reality the expats have become in Thailand.

MOST COUNTRIES would be a lenient as Thailand when it comes to punish law offenders and in a lot of countries it's even worse as Thailand.

Time for a reality test at your own country first ....

A BMW Series 3 sedan costs between 2.5M and 3.3 million baht in Thailand. That's up to $100,000.

"Rich driver who deliberately blocked ambulance...."

Where did the "rich driver" bit come from, it sure wasn't the headline if the original article?

Doesn't take a rich man to own one of those.  The model shown in the video does not cost anything like B3.3m, less than 1/3rd of that would be more accurate.

I am sure the poor rich guy wishes now he would have moved over sooner.

Thai social media is very brutal in dealing with people like this, they will haunt him and his

family.

So many people like him have lost their jobs and social life because of social media.

We're in Thailand, and this is a Thai expat forum.

Feel free to block an ambulance in your country and test that theory though. ????

One of the problems here is that the ambulances go with sirens - even if they go out for lunch, so it devalues their impact.

My missus is a doctor and she often says the same. They should only be used in emergencies.

She's very impressed the way in the UK that the cars always get out of the way immediately at the sound of a siren.

because Uk drivers have a brain and have been educted regarding rules/laws of the roads.........
