I take him at his word because I've seen the US backed coups and the rabid anti-Russia rhetoric from the media and political establishment (remember the Trump election and presidency?). IMO Putin is 100% justified in his stance and I'm not gonna let the media trick me into another 2001'esque "weapons of mass destruction" nonsense that leads to another 20 year conflict.

Putin’s a murderous deceiving thief & terrorist who needs to eat a bullet.

Cut all aid given to Thailand, and redirect it to the Ukraine war effort.

Indians settled raised educated in UK or US are first rate in my ( oil industry) experience.

Forbes predict 50% of American CEOs will be first generation Indian-American by 2030. They are not raised in the USA. The are born in India, got indian education and then migrated to USA. American industries will not survive without manpower from India. Why then Intel, Microsoft, Cisco, and other big tech companies are scouring India for remote workers. Yes, it is cheaper but they won't sacrifice their quality for cheapness. Why 80% fortune 100 companies have their R&D in India? It is the volume of engineers they can hire from a pool of billion people. Silicon valley is full of first generation Indian and they are not raised in the USA. Four million first generation Indian raised and educated in India earn twice the average American college graduates. And all these people are raised and educated in India and then migrated to USA. Yes, many of them got higher education in the USA but their BS engineering/medicine degrees are from India.

Then there’s the problem. Indian degrees are mostly of low value with many purchased. Think only Canada stupidly allows these to be “ converted” to Canadian degrees which are already well below UK / US degrees then further degraded.

Indian IT Tech is overrated and well below UK (top),US & Israel. Many Indians are Muslims which again doesn’t help matters. Can’t see that 50% CEO thing ever happening.

Asians are NEVER going to beat Westerners in any field. Too much cultural baggage going back thousands of years.

ASEAN, the toothless tiger goes on about Ukraine & wanting peace.

What about doing something constructive about Myanmar where people

are being persecuted within your own alliance & doing absolutely nothing

Agreed. The problem is some of the other members aren't that good either as far as I know.

If this alliance between India and Asean to evade US sanctions against Russia does one thing, I hope it takes the blinders off people who think India is a reliable partner against China. Beware their behavior. The so called "success" of Indian CEOs is due to their ability to ingratiate themselves with their superiors over the long term, acting obsequious and loyal, and then once in charge revealing their true face. See Vishal Garg who fired 900 employees the day before Christmas last year, claiming "market efficiency, performance and productivity as the reasons behind the firings." And then turning around and hiring 1000 Indians to replace them. This is the pattern: monopolization of the H2B visa program and replacing Americans with their own nationals, getting politicians to make a set aside to prefer Indians for permanent residency, and then once in the door start the long string of "family reunification," effectively colonizing the US.

Monarchy Land in Bangkok alone worth $US 100 billion. Yet Thailand senselessly borrowing billions from Japan / China. Thailand could easily be like Singapore but for mindless passive hierarchical elite- worshipping culture.

To really compete they must discard all aspects of being Indian.
You must know Indians are despised worldwide for their culture, stench & behaviour/ nature.

Unlike White people Indians are very tribal and once they get into a management position they fire the non-Indians and hire Indians. I've heard this story many times now working in software.

The question is why do they need to come to the USA and Europe, shouldn't we be going to India for tech jobs since that's where all the most brilliant and hard working people are?

I haven't read the Putin's speech, but the Chinese summarised it perfectly:

https://www.globaltimes.cn/page/202203/1255314.shtml

If Russia have joined NATO after the cold war there would be a competitor to sell weapons, and also the European part of NATO would be too big and powerful militarily. Not allowed to happen.

EU is getting poorer and less competitive by the hour, watch the centrifugal forces and the far right or left getting further ground there.

Lol! You are defending an autocracy by citing a piece of propaganda by another autocracy!

Of course, nothing to do with the fact that Russia was first an unstable corrupt country run by an alcoholic guy, then an increasingly authoritarian State lead by an incompetent old-school ex-KGB official!

Not to mention that Putin had probably no intention to ally with democratic and wealthy countries (which Russia is obviously not after 20 years of Putin's leadership.)

It's a ridiculous fake equivalency! The WMD scam was based on faked evidence, the invasion of Ukraine by Putin is real, the killings and destruction are real, they are not faked evidence.

The US regime is overtly anti-Russian and now essentially fighting a proxy war against Russia. If this boils over in to a full blown war it will be their fault as much as anyone. Best thing for world peace is for the US to go back home and leave Russia and Ukraine to resolve their disputes.

Following this line of thought, if the US had not been overtly anti-German and had not helped UK and Russia during WW2, and let them alone resolve their disputes with Hitler by themselves, lots of lives would have been spared! ????

Impossible for Westerners to get Work Permits in India because “ Indians need Work Permits in West”.

Straight Reciprocity ? NO. Clearly No Equivalence. A few thousand whites wanting (god knows why) to work in a total uncivilized sewer is NOTHING like potentially hundreds of millions of Indians freely swamping & colonizing clean civilized West destroying labor markets and cultures. Muslims already doing that of course with West permission. Indians pretend to see nothing but “ discrimination”.

Oh, er.............

See your point but think the difference n sense of urgency needed is different here as the war is not occurring on putin's backyard; his country was not being devastated n he was the dominant aggressor  ..

Even Trump was embarrassed when the press found him hiding in the bunker when protests were occurring at the White House n had to hastily make up an excuse that he was ahem .. not hiding but was rather doing a special inspection of the bunker .. hoho

The US n Europe are talk shops too as they are not doing any physical fighting ..
Ironically, Zelensky is the greatest talk shop around as he spends all his time acting like some Youtube star doing podcast n webcast in his expensively furnished hollywood style studio n mansion that is being built with US money while his countrymen are dying every second ...

His life has been in danger and it continues to be so. His highly effective online international outreach (he can't travel now) has been critical in securing arms and raising funds for the defense for the very survival of his nation. Even though Ukraine could still lose, it's hard to imagine a leader who could have done as much as Zelinsky as quickly as he did it which is at least giving his country a fighting chance. I find your personal attack of him hollow and truly disgusting.

Well it's the same people and this time they want a war with Russia so they're using NATO to advance on them. Putin explained in his speech why he did what he did. You're letting these same clowns that lied to you about WMDs convince you Russia is a threat after they themselves started it.

This time it's not going to be bombing goat herders in the hills but a serious war and China may even get involved and support Russia. You seriously think this is a good idea and worth the cost when all you had to do was stay home and stop meddling in other countries affairs?

My point is our media is lying to us about labor shortages in tech and I wouldn't be surprised if Indians themselves are working with the media companies/politicians to spread the lie.

I'm actually a programmer and I was looking for work last year so I can tell you with confidence that every job opening has _at least_ 100 applicants and the market is totally saturated. Programming is not that hard and there are endless amount of American kids who can do this work so there's absolutely justification for allowing foreigners to compete with them.

The fact the last CEO of Twitter had an actual accent tells me these people are effectively taking over entire companies  and Americans are so brainwashed with this "there's only race the human race" nonsense that they can't see it.

This invasion didn't happen at random, there's a history to it and the US is at the center. Go read Putin's "Empire of Lies" speech and he explains.

Was that the speech where he celebrated the acquisition of half of Poland in 1939? He somehow failed to note who Russia's partner was in that act of dismemberment. It was Nazi Germany.

Actually, now that I recall better, it wasn't . That was a long piece he wrote (or had ghostwritten but attached his name to it.)

Europe does need dirthole India in any way whatsoever. Not even  a useful ally against Enemy China Iran Pakistan. India even neutral re. CCP China.

On second thought forget India; they can eat their cheap rubbish Russian weapons & oil and take care of themselves. Civilized Nations will handle China and Iran … India later.

Thanks for demonstrating your utter lack of knowledge about India/China relations. You might want to consult this:

2020–2022 China–India skirmishes

Beginning on 5 May 2020, Chinese and Indian troops engaged in aggressive melee, face-offs, and skirmishes at locations along the Sino-Indian border, including near the disputed Pangong Lake in Ladakh and the Tibet Autonomous Region, and near the border between Sikkim and the Tibet Autonomous Region. Additional clashes also took place at locations in eastern Ladakh along the Line of Actual Control (LAC).

You mean Russia applied to join NATO and it was rejected? Well, that would explain the chip on Putin's shoulder.

NATO was established during the Cold War and why it wasn't disbanded in 1989 is part of the problem. It's largely US funded (https://worldpopulationreview.com/country-rankings/nato-spending-by-country) and why would the US be spending that much money on an organization created to fight the now-defunct Soviet Union?

If NATO would have gone away in 1989 like it should have we'd only have a regional border dispute instead of potential nuclear WWIII on our hands.

Irrelevant Border Clashes. Old as time in this region. India and China are Natural Enemies. I’m historically aware. India being “ neutral” though about joining the alliance of developed countries against China.
Like China,India unable to project power beyond their borders so unclear what use they might be.

NO. NATO created to counter RUSSIA, an existential threat to Civilization. That is why USA remains heavily committed to strengthen & defend a Free Europe.
