A kindergarten teacher in northern Vietnam’s Yen Bai Province covered a child’s head with a plastic bag and beat him for refusing a noon nap.

In video footage circulating on social media, about 10 kindergartners were to take a nap at noon. When one boy refuses to go to sleep, a kindergarten teacher goes out and returns with a black plastic bag that she puts over the little boy’s head and beats his buttocks. After realizing that there’s a camera in the classroom, she takes the bag off and takes the boy outside.

Tran Yen District officials said the incident happened Saturday at the Bong Sen Kindergarten in Bao Dap Commune. The kindergarten is a new one that opened May 5, they added.
