Hanoi and northern provinces are once again inundated Tuesday following long-lasting rains from Monday night that caused severe traffic jams and house, crop damage.

Hanoi's Hoang Mai District recorded rain levels at over 130 mm from Monday night, followed by Hai Ba Trung District at 100 mm, and Hoan Kiem, Ba Dinh, Dong Da and Long Bien districts at 80 mm.

Co Linh and Ngoc Lam streets in Long Bien are heavily inundated. The section under the overpass on Thien Duc Street was over 30 cm deep, causing vehicles to slow down. Some motorbikes were flooded and could not start again and had to wait to be rescued.
