London (CNN) Britain's beleaguered Prime Minister Boris Johnson is facing accusations he misled lawmakers and is staring down fresh calls to resign, after new images were published appearing to show him raising a glass with colleagues at a social gathering inside Downing Street during lockdown.

The photos, obtained by ITV News, appear to show Johnson offering a toast during a colleague's leaving party in November 2020; several bottles of alcohol litter the table in front of him. In some of the photographs, Johnson seems to be giving a speech, the ITV News report says.

At the time, indoor social mixing was banned due to a spike in Covid-19 cases, and no more than two people were allowed to meet outside.

One rule for the politicians, another rule for the rest of us.

They make all the rules, they just don't bother to follow them, when they are not sexually harassing something or somebody, which seems to be their latest sporting activity.

Anyone who thinks politicians were all fine, upstanding pillars of society (some are) before Covid came along is a bit delusional, IMO.

Boris Johnson has been a compulsive liar for decades and it was no secret. The electorate has got what it voted for. He is shameless; otherwise he would have resigned months ago.

Left Wing politicians ALWAYS tell the truth , Right wing politicians always tell lies, everything they say is telling lies

I didn't differentiate between left and right in my post so not sure why you quoted it.

Both are as bad as each other, Blair lying about WMDs as a pretext for joining the invasion of Iraq, for example.

OK, everyone tells lies all the time and no one ever tells the truth

I didn't say that either. Re-read my post, or are you just itching to have an argument with someone?

No, I said it, it was me that posted it and not you !!!!!!!!!

It does indeed make you wonder if the pandemic was as serious as we were told

I think it tells you that politicians are even more stupid than we thought.

My mother was isolated for nearly 2 years - we had to wave at her from the garden outside.... her funeral is tomorrow.

Meanwhile Boris and Co were swigging Champaign and laughing about lockdown breaches.....hundreds were having  parties at number 10 and government offices

Boris is still here though

All this fuss over Boris and a beer when the supporters of terrorist groups, Corbyn/Abbott sat as the opposition for a long time in the House..

Even now, we know the opposition leader had a beer with chums....

There's a huge crisis in the East that Boris is involved in, yet folk are concentrating on a couple of beers.....????

Flushing ridiculous...????

The country was split down the middle by Brexit and the lies that people bought into by that.  Hence Johnson won the election by a landslide. Even now that the lies are being exposed day by day, people still can't see it, or refuse to see it for what it was.

Stop lying .

Johnson won a landslide election because the opposition,  Labour  went against the will/vote of the British electorate

There's an irony here

Mac Micmanus accuses everybody who accuses Boris of lying, of lying.

what can we deduce from that?

That I am lying about you are lying about Boris is lying ?
