Lurkers

Featured Replies

Just testing a theory here folks.

Edit : Just tried posting whilst browsing "anonymously" to see what it came out like.

I'd seen curious posts , in that the nick was a known one but the word "unregistered' was added.

Another idea shot down in flames.

Ah well.

I'm a more of a lurker nowadays. Simple reason is I don't have time to think about long winded replies during the daytime - idle browsing or the odd daft one line post is the most I can get away with.

Still enjoy reading for the debates about the news and the banter, but don't get much more involved than that nowadays.

Love to see your sweet face and hear your views, Insight.

It is better to have lurked and left. Than to never have lurked at all...................Byron ( or some other foppish poof )

Byron? Screaming Lord Such more like! Oh, I don't think 'poof' is pc these days, it's "some other foppish gay".

What the he11 happened there. If possible please remove 2 of them, ta.

The past few days, the forum website has been incredibly sloooooooooowwww. Like two or three minutes to open a thread. Not my system -- new comp and all my other websites open in a nanosecond. Sad.

I'm lurking with Buckweat... Peak a Boo Buckweat.

He's not lurking, he's stalking!

Waiting for the big fluffy tiger.

Don't you know? If you constantly borderline break the forum rules or otherwise do something to annoy a mod and they can't quite nail you for it, there is a button they can click that causes the forum software to delay for a few seconds before serving up the web pages. :o

Actually , in a previous life , I used to work in the world of computer systems and when people complained of the slow response I used to explain it automatically slowed down to their level of ability.

The script refers to what you've written. It come from the Latin 'postscriptum' meaning to 'write under, add'.

I hope this helps...

so if you do thirteen PS's would the latin not be

XIII*PS: blah blah

Or did the Romans not invent Mathematics?

Perhaps it would be better to say the Greeks invented modern mathematics.

Yes, other cultures had ways of calculating things. For example, the ancient Egyptians had systems to measure how high the Nile would flood each year. Based on that, they could calculate the amount of taxes to be collect during the next harvest cycle.

On a bit of a posting binge there kayo ? :o

And why shouldn't he be?

How modern is modern. When did the old mathematics stop. Cos if they just tweaked it a bit, they can't count that as inventing it :o

All mathematics is just tweaking what's gone before.

I still use the old maths - my fingers. :o

That's why metric is so useful - 10 fingers, 10 toes! :D
