Vietnam elected vice president of UN General Assembly

Vietnam has been elected vice president of the 77th session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA), representing the Asia-Pacific region for a one-year term.

 

The votes were cast at a meeting Tuesday, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

 

Hungarian Ambassador Csaba Korosi was elected president of the 77th session of the UNGA, and Vietnam one among several vice presidents, representing the Asia-Pacific region. Vietnam's one-year term would commence Sep. 13.
