BANGKOK, June 10 (TNA) – The chairman of Saha Group said many factors were affecting costs and it would seek approval from the Ministry of Commerce to raise the prices of its Mama instant noodles.

Saha Group chairman Boonsithi Chokwatana said the Russia-Ukraine war continued for months and considerably raised the production costs of many products of the group, especially instant noodles.

The production of instant noodles depended on imported wheat and palm oil, the prices of which soared, he said.

I saw a BBC  Doco about 8-9 years ago on making that Freeze dried product as the way to feed the multitude in Africa etc . Apparently the figure they were giving then to mass produce it was $us0.015 cents -- then an extra cost for adding Vitamins or Vaccines into it. Add cold water, you had a meal--- Pro's --the light weight of it enables air lift--drops  etc/it never goes bad/ You can introduce other things into it/ They are not hungry after.

Con's-- it not as nutritious as Milk powder/Grain  or whatever they give them.

The Idea never got off the ground, Maybe with the Ukraine food supply off the table , they may look at it again.

They want to sell more overpriced pot noodles, but ordinary Thais don't buy, preferring the original cheap packaging.

Go for it, raise the price for the mainstay food of the poor.

Well July is birthday month so guess just another sickeningly rich family wishing to ensure that the present does not come out of their own pockets and get the very poor Thai consumer to pay
