When was the last time you did this ?

When was the last time you created a "restore point" for your PC ?

I was reminded to do it just now from a video that came my way. Its been ages since I did one and it really makes good sense to do them regularly, so if you hit any problems, you can restore back to when you know everything was good.

Heres how, for those that need it.

I do a full backup image of my C drive every 2 weeks or so.

I haven't tried Windows restore point in well over ten years, but once did a test case and found the restore from a restore point was not satisfactory.

Things have probably improved in recent years, and setting the point may be better than nothing in some cases, but don't count on it.  Very disappointing experience to attempt a restore and get a message about data corruption.  It would be like having your car stolen then learning that for some reason beyond yourself your insurance policy was cancelled last week.

These days I use Macrium Reflect.  A solid piece of work, and it's free.  Never tried using it for incremental backups.

Yeah, it depends. Worth noting that a "restore point" on windows isn't a real drive backup or anything, it's just a means to sort of repair your OS when you encounter a problem without having to tinker or fresh install. It doesn't backup your user files. If you actually want to backup 3rd party programs are mostly better and if you want to be protected from things like fires and robberies you'll need at least one backup offsite.

My PC is creating a restore Point every other day, automatically on Boot up via a Batch File

Once a Month a FULL backup of my Windows drive (C Drive) to an External Drive with Macrium Reflect. All Data is stored on a separate internal Drive (D drive) and is synced (with File Versioning) to my NAS!

I could never get a restore point to work on Win 10 so I gave up trying years ago.

Fairly easy to set up system restore points on a schedule;
