A road to link Ho Chi Minh City's Cat Lai Port with two routes has been proposed to boost regional connectivity.

In a statement sent to the Ministry of Transport on Wednesday, the city's Chairman Phan Van Mai said the proposed route would link Tan Cang-Cat Lai Terminal, Vietnam's busiest container port, with HCMC – Long Thanh – Dau Giay Expressway and Ring Road No.3. It will also run to Phu Huu Port that is three kilometers from Cat Lai.

The route is to better serve cargo shipment and ease traffic jams in the area, the statement read.
