The meeting of the Centre for Covid-19 Situation Administration (CCSA) today could consider some interim measures to prevent the wildfire spread of the Covid-19 virus after the country’s infection rates has been on a steep increase prompting many to question the official figures that are being released.

The surge in infection has prompted many schools to give a longer breaks in order to stem the outbreak and some have even opted to go back to online classes.

With official numbers as of this morning being at a mere 2,144 new cases that was announced by the Ministry of Public Health Ministry, Thailand is now facing a critical time yet again.

Wouldn't happen to coincide with "rainy season", then?

You are making an assumption that excess deaths are caused by covid, rather than the reaction to covid.  There are excess deaths in many countries worldwide this year which are not being attributed to covid.

I 've read there are 29.000 new cases a day in a newspaper..... I am wondering if the cases are real cause when there were many cases they lowered and now they maybe make them look worse..just to keep the emergency decree??

How sick are people really when they have Covid? is it worth the panic again?

The surge happens everywhere, but nowhere they are closing down again. So why is Thailand even considering this?

They have no idea how many "cases" there are.

Agreed.  Most especially for youngest kids.

Well that’s the wet dream of the government! Keep the next generation of kids stupid, naive and never questioning any actions/decisions by the leaders. So back to online learning, which is not productive at all and has been proved in multiple studies all over the world.

Don’t panic. The bars haven’t closed yet. That seems to be one of the main focus on here.

I am just getting over it 10 days of hell.  Down play it or think what you want for me, it was not a cold or flu.  Lung and breathing issues were serious, I had to sit in a chair to sleep because I could not breathe laying down.  Certainly not a joke probably would have been much worse without the vaccine.

" Useless… damaging "? …oh,I thought you were talking about the education generally having studied Thailand’s rankings in PISA EDUCATIONAL TABLES…

That’s where you’re going wrong - you're supposed to put them on the OUTSIDE of your head! ????

i'm guessing the mask wearing didn't work out too well for you.

Speedy recovery.

let's see if the PM will backtrack his decision to unmask indoors. That was hastily made decision, to be introduced as the 4th, the final step, relaxing covid rules.

abandoning masking outside was right. Many countries keep masking on public transport or are reversing to masking now, with summer wave over europe

Pretty well, given my infection amounted to a mild inconvenience for a week. Certainly better than for an unvaccinated acquaintance who’s no longer around to tell you of his experience… ????

That's true - there are increasing and much graver consequences attributed to the reaction to this virus - In UK there is extremely disturbing data indicating of a huge number of missed early diagnoses of serious illnesses coupled with a huge backlog of missed treatments.
