WVRoger Posted June 21, 2007 Posted June 21, 2007 Hello Boys, My name is Roger. I am retired and just got married to a lovely gal. Need help in securing a house in Surin or just outside of the city. I want to buy, not rent. My wife is from Surin and has offered to help, but, I would rather turn to my fellow farangs than a Thai! Thanks for the help!

Need help in securing a house in Surin or just outside of the city. I want to buy, not rent. My wife is from Surin and has offered to help, but, I would rather turn to my fellow farangs than a Thai! Thanks for the help! Roger, had a guy call me a few months back, based in Ipswich UK. Had big problems with his thai GF and wanted out of Surin. Don't have a tel No, but have his address. Not too sure on details, think it was a fairly modern 2 bed, he was looking to sell for around 1M baht. PM me if you wat to persue it, I can drop him a line. I remember he was not on the net.
Nomad97 Posted June 21, 2007 Posted June 21, 2007 Roger, I live in City Land, a village type environment about four/five kilometers from downtown Surin on the Eastern side of town. The three major supermarkets; Big C, Tesco Lotus and Makro are only a couple of kilometers away. There are a number of new properties for sale in this predominantly Thai residential area and quite reasonably priced from 700K (for a two-bedroomed town house on a 200 sq meter plot) up to 1.65 million baht (for a three-bedroomed villa with carport on a 400 sq meter plot). Bigger plots are available. In addition, the property developer is very flexible about payment options (10 to 20 percent down) and She can assist your Thai wife to obtain a mortgage from a Thai bank, if that is the way you would like to finance your purchase. Also, there are a few farangs (several Swedes, a Swiss, a Dutchman, a couple of Brits, a few Australians, a Greek and an American) living in this area if you want/feel the need for some expat company in your retirement. Please feel free to PM me if you would like further details.
