Daily News Thai Caption: Remove vehicles blocking the way

 

Daily News reported from the Phoon Chai community in Rayong where locals are concerned about vehicles abandoned for years that are blocking the roads.

 

They also moaned to the press about people putting flowerpots in the street blocking access.

 

Complaints to the local authority have been ignored.

Neung said that he had told a neighbor to move things but been met with an excuse that "it's in front of my house, I can do that".

 

A local resident representative said they would have a word.

 

Police said it was illegal and that people could be fined 500 baht for blocking the road and up to 10,000 baht if it represented a cleanliness issue.

Many businesses and home owners here feel they own the street in front of them.  Many blocking it off to prevent people from parking there.

 

It legally is not theirs but there is no to little enforcement of it.
