Jomtien Immigration

Is there any logic in the best time to go to Immigration in Jomtien? I have a 90 day report but it is also my first one since moving to Pattaya so not quite as straight forward as usual. 'Think I have the correct forms.

Try to avoid the dates of those covid extension expiering dates...as most times would be many people there i guess

Do the report online. Easy, fast, free, no waiting lines, 24/7....

Picture attached to see the image you need to click. Then comes a long message with instructions and at the very bottom of these instructions the link to the registration.

 

Avoid submitting at last minute as they take a few days to process.

 

Note also that you need to make your own follow up : even if you receive an email confirmation that your application was successfully submitted, my experience is that sometimes you don't receive later an email saying your 90 days report was validated. 

But if you login there and click "check the status", your validated form is there.

I dont know ,but is at those dates on month that crowds have being in the past ....and most times it is at last moment the gov. Extend it

The OP may need to submit his first 90-day report at Jomtien in person with completed forms TM30 and TM47.

 

@orientfan - that said, have you already provided Jomtien with a completed TM30 form?

90 days if can't do online, there is a area in front on right Tent,  for 90 days.

Pretty straight forward no forms.  

Of course not s Monday at unless afternoon pass 13:00

Reporting will not take long as they have a desk for reporting in the carpark to the right of entrance. You hand in your passport and take a seat. Probably Thursday or Friday afternoons would be best.

For in person 90 Day Report, go 30 minutes prior to lunch break or closing time.

I would suggest after 3. Drop it in ,get your ticket. Walk down the soi and have a beer. By the time you come back it should be ready to be picked up.

I've personally ALWAYS had the best luck around 1:30 on Wednesday afternoon. NEVER go there on a Monday or a Friday.

I went there this afternoon at about 1:30 to do my annual extension... I will NEVER EVER go on a Monday again!

The queue outside was 85 persons long and it took 2 hours to reach the front door.

Only 2 large oscillating fans were running to cool people down... probably 4-6 would have been more appropriate.

Everyone was sweating profusely and tempers were getting short, particularly with queue jumpers who invariably try their luck.

I would have left to try another day but I already had my bank statement signed and dated that day.

Once inside the building it only took 5 minutes to process as all my paperwork was in order, and I departed with a numbered ticket in hand.

I will go back tomorrow after 2 to collect my passport.

 

It is a disgraceful situation as (predominantly) elderly people must queue for hours without any form of seating in the heat.

Sure there is a canopy to keep the sun off, but it is still sweltering hot and everyone is sweating profusely by the time they finally reach the front door.

 

The office needs to be relocated in my opinion... it is too small, understaffed for the volume of people being processed, and poorly located in a small soi in Jomtien with no public carparking, and to treat foreigners like that (both tourist and long-stayers) is degrading and shameful.

It will be 100 time worse once the country fully opens up and the office is inundated with tourists from other Asian countries.

They should take a closer look at some of the Immigration Offices in other provinces, particularly in the North-East or Isaan, where there is ample public parking, ample seating and waiting areas inside the building in air-conditioned comfort along with toilets and drinking fountains, and no need for outside queues.

Anyway to answer the OP, if you cannot do the 90 day report online as has already been suggested and you MUST do it in person, there is a desk for 90 day reporting in the carpark to the right of the entrance.

You hand in your passport and your completed TM47 form (plus completed TM30 form if you don't already have one) and take a seat.

They will give you a ticket/number.

You should get your passport back within 30-120 minutes.

Up to you if you wait there or wander down the soi for a quiet ale and return a bit later.

 

And... avoid Mondays like the plague!

I always find Wednesdays best for all things, be it Immigration, Post Office, Driving License, Banks, anything to do with offialdom

For Jomtien, mornings are OK, right after lunch at 1300 is bad...Tuesday Wednesday and Thursdays are always best, but did my 90 day today Monday at 0845, hand ladies (sits outside under tent to right as you headed in. Big sign says 90 day reporting.....they check PP, take it and give U a number, they tell you 40 minutes but it was more like 15 and I was gone.. Yea need to start on line but easy drive and fun to watch the circus....

At least my office, despite all the criticism I make, provided you've given them the right copies, forms, etc, give out the stamp while your there.

Now I've said that the are probably going to change to come back tomorrow.... or the day after

Don’t go Mondays or Fridays. I’ve always been very early morning just before opening time then it’s usually ok. Otherwise TUE WED THU afternoon.

Encid. I would like to see Immigration split into two parts. One for long term expats (90 day, visa extensions  etc) and one for short time holiday makers.

It would mean a new small building nearby but it wouldn't be that difficult.

After  all they moved from Soi 8 20 or so years ago as it was too small.
