Prayut Quietly Goes To Work At Defence Ministry

WITHOUT much ado Gen. Prayut Chan-o-cha, who is continuing in his role of defence minister after the Constitutional Court suspended him from premiership duties pending a ruling on his eight-year rule, went to work at this ministry in a private car without giving prior notice this morning (August 26), Naewna newspaper and INN News said this afternoon.

 

However he did inform Deputy Defence Minister Gen. Chaichan Changmongkol and Permanent Secretary Gen. Worakiat Rattananont that he was on his way and reached the ministry at 9.30 a.m.

 

Earlier Defence Ministry spokesperson  Gen. Kongcheep Tantravanich said Gen. Prayut had not given any information in advance and they were looking at it on a day by day basis.

Prayut is planning his return for another 4 years on some technicality to continue his power and control. 

 

He's not going to give up that easy.

No, there is a caretaker PM.

Same as when Yingluck dissolved Parliament in 2013 to trigger a National Election, then removed from PM by the Constitutional Court for cause.

 

But there continues to be a vacuum in democracy so long as the military controls the government and judiciary directly and/or covertly.

What does he do?  Defence Ministry against whom?  Laos? Students? Is this his first visit?  Why was Thailand not invaded during his previous years of absence?

He may have learned about defence when he was at the Military Academy, but should never have been a PM for one day never mind 8 years.

Still, he always had his soldiers and guns behind him, and still has.

There is sure going to be some interesting happenings in the very near future.
