2014 Ford Ranger Master/slave cylinder

Featured Replies

I think either the master or slave cyclinders on my Ford Ranger are worn as I am getting no peddle quite regularly.

Does anyone have any experiece with costings?

Obviously both will need redoing or replacing.

I most prabably could get it to Ford on Suk Pattaya as it is approx 6/7 klm.

Clutch or brake?

Some years ago we had issues with the clutch going to the floor on occasion, it recovered overnight of course (yes the fluid level was ok).

Decided to get Ford Chaengwattana to swap both cylinders. It took them three days to get the right units (seems there are a number of different variants).

Repair kits should be available.

Try a Cockpit or B.Quik first.

Change all the rubber hoses too.

IIRC your model has a concentric slave cylinder mounted inside the bellhousing. Quite a bit of work to replace it.

I would try replacing just the M/C first  (note that the M/C is mounted at a slight angle on this model and it can be difficult to bleed all the air out). What usually happens is that when the M/C seals become worn, air is drawn in as the pedal is released. You can buy seal kits but my recommendation would be a brand new complete M/C from Ford.

Fixed by a local respected mechanic Darkside opposite Aqua Dyne Bar Nongprue. 8,800. Saved me trying to get it to Ford which would have cost me a few K for sure.

If it is brakes, only use genuine parts.

That's right they are  produced in China. ????
