Naklua at present.

Featured Replies

I was in Naklua a few months ago sad to say it was dead. Has it picked up as I want to visit the same hotel again soon. Not the end of the world I can choose another hotel nearer to Pattaya main town. Thank you for any replies.

Places which  could be busy are (Soi 18) Lucky Bar and Blue Marlin Bar. Also the Nina Bar (between Soi 18 and the roundabout has usual some customers. Don't expect too much, but you can have fun....

Lots of new bars have opened recently and more on the way. A few new massage shops too, if they take your fancy.

I live there and my opinion is that is is still pretty dead.  Maybe some new places open, but also closed places and the ones that are open are not that busy.

I walked the beach recently and honestly, there were 5 people there in the afternoon.  More dogs then people wandering around.

Pattaya is pretty much dead right now.

I love it. It's calm.

Mainly Indian tourists, a few western tourists and the usual expats.

That's it.

At night, bars are full of girls but almost no customers there.

A pain in the ass if you ask me as the girls will essentially harass you all night.

I don't go on Walking Street. It might be a bit better there.

I've been on several walks along the coast from Pattaya to Naklua.

Very few people on the beaches. Mostly Asians.

Beautiful wooden temple near the sea called the Temple Of Truth just before Naklua.

Russians are nowhere to be seen.

Depending on what you are looking for, you're gonna love it or hate it.

I love Pattaya right now because it's a livable place.

The only thing that I find disturbing are the bar prices.

Despite massive competition and an obvious lack of costumers, they are very high indeed - especially if you take into account the not-so-favorable exchange rates.

So essentially, the worse thing in Pattaya is the nightife - for me anyway.

Who would have thought? ????

If bar owners lowered their prices and asked the girls to behave properly. It would be paradise on earth.

If you're talking about girls, you just need to play hard ball, Stick to a price you want to pay, thai friendly and massage shops, I haven't bar fined for ages. If they don't accept move to the next

Thank you for all the replies so far, very in lighting. I stayed at the Centara Grand Mirage. Nice hotel. Just that when I came out at night for food & the odd beer. (Note no Ladies as the hotel doesn't allow same) It was like walking about in a ghost town. Restaurants empty, Bars much the same. The whole area seemed lifeless.

Would like to book the same hotel but not if it's a route march to get to any form of life.

By the looks of it I will have to book another hotel. Once again thank you all for your replies.

Sounds like you should try a new area. Pratumnak soi 5 is popular, or just stay central walkable to Buakhao

I agree. I was in a very average bar at the back of Treetown the other night and bought an average looking girl a drink, 185 baht ! more than WS a gogo prices.

Not cheap getting them to put their phones down.

Yet another thing that's killing off Pattaya. People will only fall for it once then the bars & "ladies" will get nothing. No customers for all then they will be back to their up-north farms, and the bars closing. RIP Pattaya the end is nigh.

Thanks everyone for the update. Seen quite a few fresh videos, which showed many bars with 7-10 girls, 1 or 2 customers, sometimes no customers at all, late-evening in Tree Town and Chaiyapoon.

I'm now glad I wasn't able to get to Pattaya before heading to the home country this week for a visit.
