Sanook Thai Caption: Queuing for a prophecy

Sanook reported that large queues had formed at the temple of Wat Thung Yu in Sri Phoom sub-district of Muang Chiang Mai.

It was the faithful queuing for a fortune telling from a monk who is the flavor of the month, Phra Tui.

The trouble is that Phra Tui can only do 20 readings a day so from 3am to 11 am when he retires for the day, it's first come first served.

Some people said they had been waiting for five days already. It was the luck of the draw.

Apart from telling people's fortunes Phra Tui was also administering blessings.

Mrs had 3 fortunes told by various monks over the years, they all said more or less the same. That she gets angry too quick, talks too much and talks silly. I reckon there is something in these guys!

My missus went for a reading last year...

the monk told her to return daily for 20 days, bring food each day and a bag of concrete?
