Sanook Thai Caption: Thais solve the riddle fast

Sanook reported that netizens were quick to react after an English speaking foreign visitor to Thailand posted a TikTok video.

The foreigner said he was visiting Bangkok and was going for lunch but had been told by staff at a restaurant that he couldn't eat inside because a Thai YouTuber was filming.

He asked for help in identifying the YouTuber whose face was clearly visible as the camera panned.

Netizens immediately recognised Oat - Pramote Pathan.

Some netizens thought there may have been a miscommunication while others pointed out that this was probably planned well in advance and arrangements should have been made for customers.

The YouTuber in question has posted music videos viewed tens of millions of times, notes ASEAN NOW.

Sounds like a YT advert / promo instead of a honest walk-in OMB look what I found review.

Oh, a famous Thai You Tuber, no less............a celebrity? ????

These YouTubers are pretty annoying. Walking into bars and restaurants, filming people without permission. They should be banned unless they have a specific agreement from the owner.

In this case, it would appear they did have permission and diners simply had to put up with it and eat outside. In which case I'd probably be avoiding that restaurant in future.

Hi,

I don't know what's wrong with it.

It is a matter of the restaurant. Probably they were paid for this.

This foreigner is a "snowflake".

Yes, unfortunately it is the way of many today. A trivial incident becomes worthy of sharing with the world...

How can you get kicked out of a restaurant that you were never allowed to enter in the first place...can't happen.

Desperate digital knobhead looking to score a few clicks.

It's quite recently become illegal in Thailand. But well, you know....... Laws are passed with no intention or willingness to enforce them. It's a strange country, but then the lack of law enforcement is what draws many long-stayers to Thailand, rather than the millionaires that the country says it wants. Of course, some of those who welcome the lack of law enforcement are likely millionaires, but perhaps not the ones that Thailand had in mind......

I can't help thinking there are more important things going on in the world than vapid videos of 2nd or 3rd rate restaurants making fools of themselves.

Potential nuclear war is marginally more interesting!
