Nice clean town, good market, central is good. Good looking women.

 

Train station plus airport. Flights to CM. I was only there 4 nights. Couldnt see enough to judge fully.

Impossible to give advice without any knowledge of what you define as good or things you enjoy.

 

Best advice, take an apartments for a month, one week at a time and explore. Do the same for Udon. My guess is that one of those will suggest itself as a place to stay longer. You may find that Udon has a wider verity of non-Thai residents, if this is good or not is your call.
