Give the driver 15 and watch his reaction.

You should have saved enough in that time to afford the fare! ????

currently in Chaing  Mai the red baht buses charge a minimum 30 baht .Expensive if you have to change buses sometimes cheaper to use bolt

Quite, and much the same in other Thai cities. Pattay is probably the cheapest city in Thailand to travel about, but still the complaints.

It's 10 baht from Jomtien (or anywhere in South Pattaya area) to Pattaya Klang (Central Pattaya Road). Go further and it's 20 baht. Last year during Covidiocy, it was only B10 to Pattaya Nua (North Pattaya Road). Some will claim B10 to Pattaya Nua, but just stick to this and you'll have no issues. It's worth the extra B10 and you definitely don't want a potential problem with an angry baht bus driver.

Also 10 baht to North road.

If you loop back to the beach or go into Naklua then it resets to a new ride so then its 20 baht.

I pay 10 baht from Jomtien Immigration to Soi Post Pattaya.

It is the going rate.

Pay 20 baht is up to you.

It is those who splash cash around that causes us locals problems.

If a driver gets angry, smile and nod, give them 100 baht and walk away.????????

I notice they all run different routes, are there any 'baht bus route maps' ?

Baht buses don't run different routes.

If you have lived in Pattaya for a while you would know the starting, ending and the place to change your bus.????????

Google brings up 3-4 maps. keep in mind some of the lesser routes only operate during high season etc

I don't live in pattaya, but if they all run the same route, why would you need to change bus ?

Yes. I probably worded that badly.

Different routes for different buses.

Just gotta be here for a while to know the flow.????????

It's all pretty straightforward.

If in doubt, get a BG.

If you can read Thai, the route is actually written on the side of the bus.

I believe what you say and it makes sense, but think many/most will find the driver wants B20 past Central Pattaya Road. Not worth the ire of a songtaew driver. Found. that out a long time ago.

Like I said before a minority will demand the 20 (if you're f-rang) in which case just pay it.

But the majority won't.

Of course they will just grab it if you pay 20 and not 10.

What happens is a f-rang will hear the 20 demand once and falsely assume that's the fare. Then they always pay it and spread the fake news.

Pay 10 ten times..

Then you'll know what I know.

The fare is 10.

An occasional demand for 20 doesn’t change that.

Glad to oblige.

10 baht

The baht bus fare is 10 baht.

You give them 3 times 10 Baht? Isn't this 30 Baht then?
