Newsmax drops Lara Logan after comments about Satan, migrants, and blood-drinking globalists

Lara Logan in 2017

Lara Logan, formerly a CBS News reporter and more recently a frequent Fox News guest, went so off-field on former Fox News host Eric Bolling's Newsmax show Wednesday night, Newsmax said she is no longer welcome on the right-wing network. Bolling brought her on to talk about immigration, and she ended up "pushing QAnon tropes, invoking blood libel, and fear-mongering about a 'global cabal' planning to 'dilute the pool of patriots' in the United States," The Daily Beast reports.

"Newsmax condemns in the strongest terms the reprehensible statements made by Lara Logan and her views do not reflect our network," Newsmax told The Daily Beast on Thursday. "We have no plans to interview her again."

Given that you have just made a psychological diagnosis of Mike Flynn, it's rather OTT to be casting aspersions at anyone doing so about other public figures.

However, perhaps you have a psychiatric qualification and have carried out an investigation of Mike Flynn personally? Do tell.

I wasn't trying to get at causation, why Mike Flynn says what he says, which is what qualified psychologists and psychiastrists are trained for. Nor is lunatic a psychiatric phrase. But someone who espouses lunacy repeatedly has earned the designation.

She has sadly never truly recovered psychologically from the trauma of her sexual assault while covering the Egyptian revolution about 10 years ago.  It started a spiral into conspiracy and eventual paranoia that has led to her current state.

Nothing to do with her adherence to off the Q rightwing lunacy then?

Thanks for the expert diagnosis, Dr. Hanaguma. Maybe Mike Flynn and the rest of the lunatic conspiracists also were sexually assaulted by the mob in Egypt?

Isn't Mike Flynn the one that claimed covid vaccines were being planted in salad dressing. Lol. A true loon

To be honest, it may have been connected. In her earlier career as a military/foreign journalist she did some good work.  But something changed afterwards.

I suspect what changed was she saw $Big in backing the extreme rightwing nonsense that was for a time in ascendance.

Is it not a diagnosis to describe someone as having a mental illness?

Refugee or expat?

I wasn't aware that SA is a source of refugees these days.

Only my supposition admittedly...

Many South Africans chose to become expats/refugees after the sea-change in South African politics.

He was mocking your diagnosis. While the trauma can have lasting effects you are the one claiming "it started a spiral into conspiracy and eventual paranoia that has led to her current state." Has anybody of the medical profession also agreed with that diagnosis or even a jounalist?

I'm mocking your assertion of causality. She shares those opinions with lots of others. Are they all rape survivors? Did something terrible happen to Michael Flynn that explains his current views? Was it abuse of Donald Trump that explains why he retweets QAnon posts? Your assertion is ridiculous.

In other words people who hold views like hers have all suffered some sort of trauma in their past that led to their holding of certain deranged viewpoints?

Not if the statement is a layman’s understanding of the individual’s mental state.

We all make such assessments, if the past years have taught us anything it’s surely that we need to start taking the mental health of our political leaders more seriously.

Or rather, paying it much more focussed attention.

She is one of the few that are speaking out against the globalists that no longer recognize borders. I hope one of the best news sites, Newsmax,  is not also catering to the left wing globalists.

These globalists?

"the ones who want us eating insects, cockroaches and that, while they dine on the blood of children?"

Nope, not in other words. Not "people". But her. Just her.  Not trying to make a larger point.

After leaving CBS, when you then get variously dumped by among the journalistic worst in the media world, that's saying something:

"Logan left CBS in 2018. After her departure from CBS, Logan began to make wide-ranging claims on a variety of conspiracy theories regarding topics such as the AIDS virus or the Rothschild family. In 2019, she joined the Sinclair Broadcast Group, a conservative media company.[2] In January 2020, she joined Fox Nation, a subscription streaming service run by Fox News.[3] In March 2022, she said she had been "dumped" by the network.[4]

Interesting to note above that she was able to sign on with Fox and Sinclair and appear on Newsmax AFTER her descent into looneyness.

Your making a big, unsourced and possibly unfounded assertion above.

The sexual assault episode you reference occurred in 2011. Logan appears to have continued working for CBS until 2018.

And her Wikipedia summary says her descent into looney land began AFTER she had left CBS, which would have been 7 years after the fact.

"Logan left CBS in 2018. After her departure from CBS, Logan began to make wide-ranging claims on a variety of conspiracy theories regarding topics such as the AIDS virus or the Rothschild family."

Folks should read the full entry on her linked above. The things she's done and publicly stated since her departure from CBS are truly breathtakingly bad.
