Popular Post webfact
Police led by Police Major General Theeradet Thamsuthee raided an illegal nightclub premises on Charoen Rat Road on Wednesday morning. (Inset left) A white Rolls Royce was among 34 luxury cars seized. (Inset right). by Joseph O' Connor Police seized ฿1.3 million in cash from two safes while they failed to open four others at a completely unlicensed Chinese-run high-end nightlife complex in Sathorn which had a drug warehouse at the back, where sachets of drugs in different colours sold for between ฿10,000 to ฿25,000 each to over 200 nearly exclusively high-end Chinese customers, after Wednesday morning’s raid, which saw the local police chief transferred. A nationwide police crackdown on illegal drug distribution has shone a spotlight on illegal practices in the nightlife industry linked to Chinese nationals and the underworld where huge amounts of drugs and illicit money are moved across Thailand, particularly in Bangkok and Pattaya. In Bangkok, on Wednesday morning, following a raid on a completely illegal and off-the-radar high-end nightlife complex in Sathorn, the police chief of Yannawa Police Station was removed from his post while in Pattaya, a high-level task force led by ‘Big Joke’ has vowed to charge any officers colluding with the operators of the now closed Pattaya One nightclub in the city. That venue was shut down on Sunday morning and is believed to be linked to illegal drug funds and a Chinese kingpin owner. A senior police officer, the police chief of the Yannawa sub-district of Bangkok, was removed from his duties on Wednesday after a raid on three buildings situated on the Charoen Rat Road in the commercial Sathorn district of the capital, revealed an extraordinary illegal nightclub catering entirely to a well-heeled Chinese clientele where large quantities of expensive and illicit drugs were being consumed by wealthy punters. Popular Post chalawaan
"Big Joke" is just a big joke until he brings in a corrupt Army kingpin, I'm talking someone way above his pay grade. Big Joke got himself an unexplained inactive post a few years ago to contemplate just who those unusually rich soldiers are... It's all just: A. Smoke and mirrors. B. A crime boss reshuffle at the very top. Anyone who thinks otherwise is naively misled. Edited October 27, 2022 by chalawaan 1 1 7

ChrisY1
Sure looks as though a massive rug in going to be needed in this case. It is however, interesting that this venue was raided. Either someone in the cops screwed up badly, or they got cheated! 1

Ah the Han-Chinese appologist, Han Chinese assimilate and destroy cultures and merge them over the decades into their own little Han Chinese nationalist kingdom, just have to see the millions of Tibetans, East Turkistans being imprisoned, tortured, married of to creepy single Chinese men to dominate those lands and here you are promoting the next round of Han Chinese assimilation onto this land thats been going on for 140 years. Popular Post internationalism
club one in Pattaya operated for long, with the same owner and same style of work - peddling drugs. That venue in Sathorn was reasonable new, opened only 4 months ago. Both have survived scrutiny after Mountain B deadly fire. All venues were checked nationwide for their licences and operations. Big Joke, as well as Chuwit (with his brown box dossier) are plain wrong, that those clubs catered for tourists. That is more like a smoke screen peddled by them to divert public opinion from chinese mafia, which is pretty much local and well established, and is working in collusion with police and military at top levels. Why those 2 raids took place now and within days from each other? I would suspect a diplomatic pressure from chinese embassy to frame owners, Chinese nationals, who are known criminals and who were peddling drugs to china itself. I don't think it's because of competitors from thai mafia, as they cater for different clientele Edited October 28, 2022 by internationalism 5

But is it a Rolls Royce or is it a Chinese copy ? I once saw a ''Rolls'' pull up at a restaurant where the staff were running around ingratiating themselves to the Chinese lady that emerged. I realised it was not a Roller when I heard the medallic clunk of the door being closed and the diesel-like rumble of the engine being started ! 1

Popular Post kingstonkid
It is rather interesting that we condemn the Thai police and say it is all their fault. I am not naive enough not to know that things like this happened in Toronto, Vancouver and Montreal. Back the heyday Yonge street used to have almsot everything. Police around the world are being caught for corruption. Governments are being accused of corruption. It was not that long ago that cities like Chicago were rampant with the corruption of officials at all levels. London I believe also faced these issues. When the politicians and people in high government are seemed to be gray then it is hard to convince people that it is wrong to try for the same thing. The fact tht in the past year we have seen more high ranking RTP being charged and their wealth being brought to life says that there may in at least some small circles be a willingness to address this issue. I seem to remember that when BIG JOKE came onto the scene in his immigration hat that people here were highly appreciative and supportive of his measures. Now he is being painted as a part of the problem without anyone having any proof that this is so. Personally considering how much he cleaned up NANA and other areas as well as the fact that he has made a difference and is not liked by the powers that be I tend to give him the benefit of the doubt. These may seem like small steps but lets at least applaud the attempt to correct this error. 2 2
