CHONBURI’S Deputy Police Chief was transferred to the provincial headquarters pending investigation into charges of accepting one million baht bribe to help the real suspects in a crime case escape and allow two proxies to face the charges in their place, Thai Rath newspaper said Monday evening (Oct. 31).

Deputy National Police Chief Pol. Lt. Gen. Surachate Hakparn, whose nickname is Big Joke, together with Pol. Lt. Gen. Itthipol Ittisarnronnachai, commander of Provincial Police Region 2, and other senior officers said Pol. Col. Kornwat Hanpradit has been transferred while a committee investigates serious disciplinary charges against him.

This case started when six men broke into a pool villa at Jomtien Beach to look for a debtor. Upon not finding him there, they got angry and used their firearms to shoot the tyres of the occupants’ vehicles and pistol-whipped five of them before escaping.

At least they sent a proxy instead of just not turning up / jumping bail.

Or even back from whence they came....

A former brother-in-law used to make a living out of making the local police arrest stats look good.  He would confess to a variety of crimes and get paid 300 baht a day in Surin.

I'm shocked...

The RTP where brown shirts to hide the dirt. Imagine working for a corporation that is so corrupt that the general population haven't faith in the entire institution.

Why would you pistol whip tyres?

The sad part of this can be, these "fall guys" can be me or you, 90% of the times however they are the chaps from Myanma.

They ran out of ammo.

From the photo in the OP, I never figured Big Joke as a Nahm Daang drinker.

I'm curious to know the contents of the gift wrapped box.......
