Popular Post SbuxPlease Posted November 8, 2022 Popular Post Posted November 8, 2022 With the tourists back, my Soi along Sukhumvit has gone from idyllic to absolutely bonkers. I'm worried somebody is going to die because a racing car or motorcycle can't be bothered to slow in the congested area. I'm worried that a 9 year old kid will get clipped by a side mirror or an unsuspecting tourist will get creamed by Grab bike with no muffler. The biggest problem is these so called taxis that just park and wait for a customer who will pay their unmetered rate. You know the kind that have a vinyl banner hanging on the car for a floating market, wat pho, etc? They are blocking the lane for hundreds of meters, causing pedestrians and any vehicle to fight each other for the remaining part of a lane to get around. What are our chances of convincing the nearest boys in brown to come and get rid of the grifter taxis and slow down the vehicles that are going to hurt people? I've lived here long enough that I could get together perhaps a dozen business owners and residents who'd agree. 3
digbeth Posted November 8, 2022 Posted November 8, 2022 call the central traffic police, they do come and clamp the wheel or ticket the taxis that park in the sois. I know because in my soi around Nana, the taxis do call the police against each other when they have a competition to get their usual parking spot, when the police came, nobody can park for a few days then it's back to normal in typical thai fashion.

VinnieK Posted November 8, 2022 Posted November 8, 2022 Ever thought of moving away, to more idyllic locations? Like ,100s of miles away?

userabcd Posted November 8, 2022 Posted November 8, 2022 Remember Sukhumvit soi 38 night food market about 10 years ago, just beyond the food market the soi 38 was dark and quiet. Now with all the developments the road is like a highway with constant traffic, one has to be alert to all the traffic racing up and down. 1

Dont expect these Business people to help you too much. IOts probably because of their Business's that the Taxis are there in the first place.

Just increase the font on your Phone / Tablet / PC / Device you are using or use the Zoom Bottom if you have bad eye sight (or the poster is using a small font ???? )

Laphroaig27 Posted November 8, 2022 Posted November 8, 2022 Hahaha why would you ever live there? We're you expecting different? Every single male first time to Thailand crash lands in lower Sukhumvit. Most are clever eno6to move on even if it's to a dump down the BTS past Pra Kanong Move. Problem solved 1

It's almost 100% guaranteed that this will work. I suggest making an appointment with the head of your local police station absolutely immediately. He'll get right on it for you so don't delay.
