  • How can a man charged with rape not have his Passport taken off him and not placed on a no fly list?  This is a almighty screw up by the UK justice system.

  • I will look for him in Pattaya. Among all the quality tourists here, he will surely stand out.

  • It's a new type of gender.

read the article !

Read the comment he was responding to!   At the time his passport could have been retained he was still 'innocent'.

It seems that bumbling idiocy is not the sole character of one country only and it's everywhere, even in a country that suppose to know better...

Maybe they don't know for sure that he's still here but they would know where he went from the UK at the time very easily.

Indeed, if he's clever he would have then moved on to another country and be living under the radar using some assumed identity.

There's almost a zero chance that he's clever due to the predicament that he's in.

They will likely revoke his passport and Thailand will kick him out the second they locate him, there will be no need to extradite in that case, he may be on overstay in which case it's immediate or his visa will be revoked and he will be on his way back to the UK before he knows where he is.

They don't bother with extradition in a lot of cases.

Thailand is one of the worst places someone should flee to while wanted for anything but maybe he came here due to the incredibly porous borders, you never know.

"She said the rape had set in motion a chain of events that would alter the course of her life taking her to the very depths of despair. She lost her friends, job, and self-esteem and gained nothing but the wish to end her life. She said it was little short of a miracle, that she was still alive."

This means absolutely nothing to me. This does not answer whether she was raped or not. This could be statement from delusional indivisual living in a fantasy world. Where are the facts and evidence - medical records, relationship beween man and woman, character assessments, time and place where the rape took place.

That doesn't entirely make sense when applied to heinous crimes. In the case of a first-degree murder charge, for example, bail should be set very high if the subject is deemed a flight risk. Rape charges are often mishandled in practically any country. In this case he was not charged as a serial rapist, which is worse than a single incident.

I propose that Thailand make a proposal for exchange of prisoners. this rapist against the Boss, Red-Bull heir who killed a policy many moons ago.

A bit like killing a policeman on a motor bike and dragging his body for several yards, and then claiming it was somebody else "wot dun it", and then disappearing from the country?

You mean he entered Thailand, got stamped in, and then showed the UK Authorities that stamp? 555

Not every person charged with a crime has their passport taken away.  The person has to be considered a flight risk by the court for that.  And the type of crime is also taken into consideration.

If he is then he needs to be found and dragged back to UK to serve his sentence and watched forever more

that's a victim impact statement, read out after being found guilty and before sentence

People like this guy needs to be extradited back to the UK and castrated.................................with a big blunt object

The UK has exported countless wanted criminals to Thailand where they often become pillars of the Pattaya expat community engaging in property scams, drug dealing, brothel businesses, call centre scams, murder and other businesses appropriate to their education, skils and experience.  HMG doesn't seem to bother with preventing them from travelling or making much effort to get them back (I wonder why) and Thailand welcomes them with open arms and LTR visas, if they can drop enough cash. The Pattaya BiB are also very happy to welcome new clients to their protection business. A few years back a British ambassador attended a charity event organised by two British crims wanted in the UK for fraud and had himself photographed with them, showing how much due diligence the embassy, which now bills itself purely as a promoter of British commerce, does on UK business projects it supports in the Kingdom.  Finding he had more of an affinity for business than diplomacy, after rubbing shoulders like this with the British business community, he cut short his ambassadorship and left the FCO soon afterwards for a private sector job with a leading Thai beverage producer.

No. I mean check flight computer records then Thai Immigration which is a phone call. Also bank records.

UK police ring Thai Police. They do have phones in Thailand.

All they need is a court order to check everything which is easy after a conviction of rape.

They contact banks check atm withdrawals overseas.

He won't have it now. He will have shaved it off along with the hair and wearing sunglasses.

Do you not think that all of the above "facts and evidence" that you refer to will have been investigated already? They are not going to publish all those facts just to suit a particular individual. However I am sure that if you are so interested in the case, they may be available on request. The fact that he's "done a runner" says a lot!

And "This could be (a?) statement from (a?) delusional indivisual (individual?) living in a fantasy world." smacks of victim blaming to me!

Most of us will have all heard the "boy cries wolf" scenarios as regards women crying rape, (World Heavyweight Boxing Champ Mike Tyson and Miss World contestant?) but from your tone, you are implying that she made it all up, (with no evidence!) which from the information we have been given seems highly unlikely.
