I doubt very much that a pardon, which is awarded only by HRH, would be given for sex trafficking and sex with minors.

You have proof they dont?

Do you have proof that HRH pardons sex offenders? Are you suggesting that he does? Be very careful what you question or suggest. I am saying, very clearly, that he does not.

That might be the case in the west, but I believe elsewhere sentences are taken seriously (apart for the Thai habit of imposing unrealistic sentences of 100+ years).

Unrealistic sentences...no doubt copying the US system. Nothing strictly Thai about it.

I was going to say that too, but edited it out before posting as no-one has suggested it is uniquely Thai.

yes .... and i'm sure this happens all over Thailand, Cambodia & Laos every day of the week.

13 is just way too young,  the parents are as much responsible and should be charged with neglect.

I thought that it would be obvious from my message, but clarifying:

The perpetrators will be released after a few weeks/months and will be again at their old tricks in no time.

Despite all the posturing & vitriol, girls who have started menstruating have been you-know old men since the caves. I think the real questions begs, were they lured, tricked, conned or lied to. Are those 13 to 18 capable of deciding for themselves, about anything. 13-year olds have sex to buy the latest mobile. Have they had, as an OP states, had their souls destroyed???

Sex is used to sell all consumer products including people. These are kids who grew up with pornography. Did the john know she was young? Doubt it, just that she was available & willing, pretty much like every man on the planet, including the hypocritical moralists on TV.

Thai police are doing what they always do, making a show. Everywhere else, it's business as usual. Do you really doubt that a brown envelope wouldn't have meant we never heard this story?
