Of course, what else could be expected of a party that chose the ethically-challenged  Boris Johnson to be its leader?

Not to mention the terminally incompetent Health Minister, now reinventing himself on a TV reality show.

Why does anyone ever expect anything different, Tories are going to Tory.

It was sleaze that brought the last Tory run in Government to an end, and here they are at it again.

Right, only one party is honest - and it just happens to be the one that you support. Ha.

Oddly none of the Government’s usual defenders are to be found in this thread.

Indefensible, even as a non voting conservative,  I agree it’s absolutely wrong. Supports my position in not voting, but also proves my stance in not voting Labour either as we obviously will never know if the same situation would have arisen if Labour had been in power.

Given that the Conservative party are more likely to have a leaning towards business it makes sense they had ‘friends’ that were in business. Doesn’t matter if that is wrong, it’s going to be a fact of life.

There were many issues around the decisions made to mitigate the Covid-19 pandemic. Personally I would have hoped there would have been a greater cohesive policy created and managed by the WHO rather than individual governments that ended up confusing the issue with their divergent opinions and restrictions.

Back to the op, I’ll side with the ‘it was morally wrong’.

Yeah the nation that spawned more misinformation lies, insane conspiracy theories, denied common sense, denied accepted; proven medical practices than God Himself did such a stellar job with Covid huh.

Over a million dead! Turned the matter of self and social healthcare into a dumb-as-a-brick narcissistic/paranoid/deranged narrative that it was all about 'my freedom'!! A leftist communist cabal plot to destroy American's freedom.

The use of a photo by you of a gay couple in also noted. Given the text post you attached with it this photo selection is of no surprise.

Ha, I didn't know they were a gay couple, it was just the masks I was referring to and nothing else was intended. Anything else about the two fellas you'd like to suggest I implied?

With that attitude, better stay in bed, you never know what might happen.

Quite the contrary, I’ve successfully managed to have full employment, better myself, help others and have a meaningful life without the nonsense that 1 party is all good and can never do anything wrong and the other party is immediately wrong in every decision or action they take. It must be a sad life for someone that goes into fits of depression whenever a decision by the party they don’t support slaps 2 pence on a pint of beer.

It’s your choice if you want to wake up every morning of your life when your preferred party isn’t in power and live the day in mourning.

Another B.S. claim of both-sidesism. Almost always, this kind of thing comes from the right to minimize the sins of those they support.

Tony Blair and his wife 1,000,000 pounds each for speaking engagements after leaving office

But there's no subterfuge in that. It's right out in the open. Mone recommended a political ally's company and secretly profited off that recommendation.

Thanks, but not related at all to my post.

You said 'glad I didn't vote labour because you don't know what they would have done '.

The subject of the thread is a Tory Peer receiving offshore payments of £29,000,000 derived from a contract awarded her under the Tory Government’s VIP scheme.

Nothing at all to do with any other political party.

Your ‘whataboutary’ is noted.

Were you not implying that your preferred party is somehow superior? In any case, you do not get to decide what is discussed here. But your attempt at censorshipary is noted.

I suggest you refer to the top of the thread where you’ll find a very clear indication of what is the topic of discussion.

At your (condescending) suggestion, I referred to the top of the thread to find an indication of the topic, and what I found was a mention of one specific person who engaged in corruption, which you expanded to include her whole political party - which, strictly speaking, is beyond the topic of this discussion. You did this because she is from the party that you do not like. I then expanded the topic somewhat to suggest that there are corrupt politicians in every political party. Do you - or do you not - agree with that point?

I don't expect you to answer my question because you would never admit that your fellow socialists are anything but pure and honest. So I suppose that this is the point at which you will try to get this thread closed - and possibly even get me suspended - for engaging in the crime of "bickering". That's what you usually do when you can't win an argument.
