Buying property in 7 year old sons name
Hi all just wondering if someone can point me right direction in terms of understanding the laws regarding buying and owning property in Thailand. I have a 7 year old son who is dual citizen Danish/thai. Im divorced from his mum, but he was born in Thailand, has a Thai passport and is registered at her parents adress. He lives with me in Danmark. He is my only kid so he’ll inherit everything from me (eventually). Could I buy something in his name and get access to property that you couldn’t buy as a non Thai. citizen? I guess you also do it an a company where he is the shareholder? -

Accident Man Drowns While Fishing – Locals Blame Local Spirit
Picture courtesy of Khaosod. A 57-year-old man drowned after becoming trapped in an underwater drainage pipe while foraging for shellfish and fishing near a revered local shrine, sparking talk of a supernatural curse among villagers. Police Lieutenant Colonel Natthapong Wongwang, an investigator at Tha Hin Police Station in Lopburi province, received a report at 15:45 on 20 July regarding a man missing in waters near the revered Chao Pho Jui shrine in Moo 10, Bang Khan Mak Subdistrict. Rescue teams from the Por Teck Tung Foundation arrived at the scene, a weir adjacent to the shrine and immediately deployed divers. The search was made difficult by the strong water currents and the depth of the pipe, approximately 5 metres. For 15 minutes, divers searched in vain while distraught relatives sobbed nearby. In a poignant turn, the victim’s family lit incense sticks and offered a traditional apology to Chao Pho Jui, a highly respected guardian spirit in the area. Remarkably, during the second dive shortly after the ritual, divers discovered the body of Mr. Nawee, a native of Saraburi province, wedged inside the underwater pipe. His body was retrieved and examined by medical staff at the scene. According to 19-year-old Sekson, the victim’s nephew, the family had travelled from Na Phra Lan early that morning to fish and collect shellfish. After dispersing to different parts of the area, the family later realised Mr. Nawee was missing. His floating plastic tub was found near the pipe’s entrance, prompting an urgent search and the involvement of local authorities. Residents of the area emphasised the community’s deep spiritual reverence for Chao Pho Jui. Each year, locals conduct religious ceremonies and make offerings to thank the deity for protecting their rice fields and harvests. Many believe the incident may have been a result of neglecting to pay respects to the spirit before entering the waters, a tradition taken seriously by long-time residents. JD Vance warned he's 'utterly unwelcome' over UK vacation plans
Blimey, it's bad enough having Donald coming over again, and now his attack dog wants to come too. Come on you two. Put America first and stay in the US. There must be plenty of sights home you still haven't explored fully, like a long walking holiday in Death Valley. Angry Brits have told JD Vance to "f**k off back home" after it was announced he plans to holiday in the Cotswolds this summer — after previously insulting the UK and our troops. The US Vice President – previously dubbed "JD Dunce" by your Daily Star – has been warned next month's trip to the picturesque holiday hotspot will be met with protests from activists. But before he has even stepped foot in the country, locals have told him to sling his hook after making a number of remarks that have irked officials in Britain and Europe since Donald Trump swept to power last November. Accident Navy Lieutenant Crashes into Teen, Tells Family to Use 30-Baht Health Scheme for Injuries
I assumed the 30 Baht scheme covered the under age driver but perhaps the family was going for a big payday. Still, the officer is a Thai khee nok. -

Accident Motorcyclist Seriously Injured After Slamming Into Rear of Van in Pattaya

A female motorcyclist was left in critical condition following a high-speed collision with the rear of a van at a traffic light in Pattaya during the early hours of the morning of 21 July. The Sawang Boriboon Thammasathan Rescue Centre in Pattaya received an emergency call at approximately 15:30 reporting a serious crash involving a motorcycle and a van on Sukhumvit Road, near the entrance of Soi Siam Country Club in Pattaya. Rescue volunteers, along with paramedics from Bangkok Hospital Pattaya, rushed to the scene to provide urgent medical assistance. Upon arrival, responders found a white Honda Zoomer-X motorcycle with Bangkok registration plate lodged into the rear of a white Toyota Commuter van bearing the licence plate from Samut Songkhram. The rear window of the van was shattered from the force of the impact and the motorcycle was severely damaged. Close to the wreckage, emergency teams discovered the rider, described as a tom-boyish woman, lying in a pool of blood. She had sustained a fractured skull and both legs were visibly broken. First responders administered emergency treatment on site before rushing her to hospital in critical condition. The driver of the van told police that he had been stationary at a red traffic light when he heard a loud crash from behind. Upon exiting his vehicle, he found that the motorcycle had collided with the van’s rear and the rider was severely injured. He immediately contacted rescue services for help. An investigation is underway to determine the cause of the crash. Adapted by Asean Now from SiamChon 2025-07-22
