Popular Post snoop1130
The Thai government has established the “Department of Climate Change and Environment” to fulfill its commitment to eliminate greenhouse gas emissions by 2065. “Relevant government agencies are taking action in various dimensions to address the changing climate and global warming issues,” said Trisulee Traisoranaku, the government spokesperson. The new Department of Climate Change and Environment is taken care of by the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment led by minister Varawut Silpa-archa. Its mission is to “enable Thailand to achieve its goal of being carbon neutral by 2050 and eliminate greenhouse gas emissions by 2065” according to Trisulee. Popular Post Mac Mickmanus
Thailand really needs to concentrate and eliminate the things that effect daily life today , rather than looking ahead to 2065 they need to stop the burning season, stop people burning their rubbish and stop vehicles causing pollution . Do that first and then think about 2065 6 1

Let's face it : Climate is rapidly changing . ( Just ignore the deniers , it's a fact ) . To save it , radical change needs to be done now ! Politicians all over the world are unable and/or unwilling to do that . Consequences ? Accelerating a unavoidable dystopian future . 2050 ? That is 28 yrs in the future . What will happen by then , nobody knows . But it will be too late . 1

The physics is not particularity controversial, whether you want to do anything is the strangely controversial part, the world has collectively decided not to do anything in regards mitigation but you will still need to adapt (sea level rise, bigger floods, longer droughts, bigger fires, hotter weather, bigger stronger hurricanes/typhoons/cyclones etc) until it becomes beyond our ability to adapt and civilisation collapses, somewhere between 1.5 and 2 will see too many tipping points for us to stop it after that. Shorter term you also need to modify how you interact with the world, for example Europe's new carbon border tax, you either lower your emission in the products you export, or pay much more tax to export to Europe, or you don't export to Europe but those are decisions that need to be made. wasabi
The only thing they need to do is greatly reduce air pollution. If one believes in climate change or not is irrelevant. The same drivers of air pollution are the same that would cause climate change.

Lacessit
Really. The Thai government has one of the dirtiest electricity generators on the planet, the Mae Moh power station near Lampang, which is currently expanding capacity. On that basis, a new climate body is just window dressing.

Just go as far back as the 1930's to see the climate which was pretty much the same as now. If you could go back to the time when man has been on the earth you would find there are cycles in the weather. Extreme hot and cold periods. 2

Popular Post connda
Oh goodie. I wonder who long it will take to create a new serf-class of Thais who are restricted to walking and riding bicycles without leaving 5 km from the center of the villages. Only wealthy Thais who can afford the carbon taxes will be allowed a motor vehicle and the luxury of buying their way out of the containment zones. In the meanwhile 80% of average Thai's income will be spent on basically trying to cook food or stay warm in the winter. And if they starve to death (well, except for those who can hunt and gather enough bugs to subsist) - so be it. Gaia has too many useless eaters and the Earth needs to be the playground of the immensely wealthy. What joy. We'll all be living life just like Hitler wanted - a 1000 year Reich where the Rich are Rich and the Poor are simply ****ed.
