That's a bit perverse as what I assume was ment is it's the go to lie for some woman when they find themselves in a precarious situation (women can be the abusers often are). Well if beating her was a conclusion of loosing then he must have obviously had one win 5 years ago......

So you have been abused by a woman ,not verbally , I mean physically ? ,

i have known quite a few men who have physically abused their wives,

but never heard of a man been abused, but of course it must happen

but it must be miniscule compared  to men abusining .

Why do woman stay with men who beat them up? You hear stories in the UK oh he beat me for years !! I would be out the door the first time he touched me.

That's always puzzled me. I can only suppose that, deep down, they actually like the neanderthal caveman-type.

But I'm confused. Before I came to Thailand I read many times that Thai families are so close.......

She could have easily have left him. Killing is a very drastic resolve. She should get life in the monkey house for her knife attack.

Self defense?

I always bet on Thai women using a knife (or machete), because even in trivial arguments that's what they do. Surely I'm not the only guy on this forum who's had a woman pull a knife on him over nothing?

Let's face it......many a male expat in Thailand is only there because he can easily hook up (serially) with Thai women, who will put up with all his emotional dysfunction like women back home ceased to do some time ago.

But even Thai women will only take so much.

I've seen the way these guys behaved back home.

Then, in my naive ignorance, as a male, I naturally had some sympathy for them.

But now, with the perspective of time and experience, I can see that they were destined for relationship failure all along.

And still are........judging by what they say, on these pages, about their experiences in Thailand.

I was friends with a thai lady at my condo.  She stabbed an unarmed belligerant foreigner resident of the condo with a boxcutter over a trivial issue.  Loss of face baloney which is all important to them.   Cut him deep, exposing bone in arm/shoulder area. She could have just walked away.  Non lethal, he survived.  Camera caught it all.

The proceeding years of litigation/hassle took a lot of time and she had to meet with multiple agencies along the way.  One meeting an official told her you should have just killed him to avoid all this hassle, litigation, medical bills.  It would be written off as self defense.  This is how they think.

This story indicates that if you finish off the other party, then there is less disputing of the survivors story.  She got two years suspended sentence.  No jail.

A morbid side note, she said it was one of the most exhilerating experiences of her life.  She said next time it happens she will wait until he is helpless like after he falls asleep.

We are in Thailand not back home.  My experience here indicates  these women turn into cold blooded killers at the drop of a hat.

As their fight escalated in the garage area she rounded a vehicle, picked up the knife and made some wild slashes in the direction of her husband.

Self defense as she had already been attacked by him, and he was carrying a knife.

Two possibilities ............

1. They like the violence and are excited by it or

2. They are lying about the beatings.

To find out the dead guy s character, all the police have to do is go around the neighborhood and ask

a few people. In Thailand people know some things about their neighbors.

""She caught him in the chest and he fell; she never believed it would end like this.  """

And I have long observed that kitchen knives in Thailand are very sharp and dangerous to use. Proof....

A lethal thrust of a knife to the torso is much easier in an ambush situation.  Catching him unsuspecting.

When I was attacked by a psycho thai lady with an 18 inch knife, I had time to evade the attack and not allow a mortal wound to occur.

No.  She knows the system and the only witness is dead.  She will be the beneficiary of house and vehicles in garage.

Her husband was addicted to football betting and every time he lost he would take it out on her.

She isn't bad looking.  I wonder why she chose a gambling wife-beater 15 years her senior.  Unless the bad-boy type of thing drew her to him.

No other way out in Thailand.  If the circumstances are as she says, I can't say I blame her.  What a mess.

You also hear women say "Oh I like a bad boy me" and "But he makes me feel so safe".  Women can very often like men that treat them very badly.  Then there's the fear.  The bad-boy she chose threatens to kill her if she leaves (even more likely in Thailand).  Also there's the fact that men often earn more than women, and they have a kid together, so they're pretty reliant on him.

I think they just find a way to tolerate it or even don't mind it in some situations.  Don't abusers normally apologise and act nicely for a while after an assault?

Good grief, you've had more personal knife drama than a Friday night in Croydon.

If one is familiar with women who like 'bad boys', you're social circle is all a bit suss from the get go.

You can only learn things about people from your immediate social circle?  I find that surprising.  I don't think that is normal and it is certainly not the case for me.

Do you want to try a different ad-hom?

Thai families are generally "close" in the provinces as 4 generations oft live under the same roof.

Now, add money into the mix and the closeness will quickly vanish.????????

You people are really amazing - you can read a simple few lines from a reprt and know exactly what happened. The amazing part is they you can make these judgements without seeing the evidence reports or witness statements - truly amazing.

Sorry, apart from rubbish grammar, I should have said, "If one is familiar with women who like 'bad boys', then one's social circle is all a bit suss from the get go."

See? Not an 'ad-hom' bone in my body.

I evicted the third-generation squatter. Now I'm working on the hangers-on from tier 2.

I hope the court takes pity on her if neighbours and friends back up her story.

That's the key to it. If people corroborate her story then there must still be a prosecution but a suspended sentence for GBH should be as worse at it gets.

Husband loved porn.   He say porn is victim-less, hurt nobody.   Porn show him the cold sharp truth, porn kills.   Children, heed this message, leave porn alone.
