Scott
The Treasury Department said Friday the US could default on its debt as soon as June, setting up one of the first major battles on Capitol Hill after Republicans took control of the House. The US will reach the debt limit on January 19 and then “extraordinary measures” will need to be taken, Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen wrote in a letter to House Speaker Kevin McCarthy. She said that the Treasury Department will pursue those measures, but they will only last a limited amount of time. https://www.cnn.com/2023/01/13/politics/debt-limit-janet-yellen-letter-to-kevin-mccarthy/index.html
Popular Post ozimoron
It's likely that the GOP will attach a rider to the funding bill to blackmail the Dems into agreeing to cuts in social security and Obamacare then blame them for not voting for it. The dems want a clean bill. Edited January 13, 2023 by ozimoron 2

Sadly, very funny. As if the economic system does not have unemployment built in. Great thinking, ignore reality … “let them die and reduce the surplus population” … Scrooge.

On the assumption you are working in Thailand then you will be paying sufficient taxes to cover the public services that you use and support your life here. However, I wasn’t responding to you and as you no doubt are aware foreigners who work in Thailand are a very small faction of foreigners in Thailand.
