Police in Ao Luek, Krabi, southern Thailand were called after a lady at the Klong Suk housing estate found an infant tossed in a roadside trash can.

The boy aged between one and two months was wrapped in swaddling cloth and was crying out causing the lady to look in the trash as she went to the shops.

She took the child home to her house a kilometer away and contacted a local councillor called Bunchoke Kumat who called rescue services and police, reported Thai Rath.

The child - who weighs about 4 kilos -was taken to Ao Luek hospital for temporary care.

Police said they believe the parents are local young people who are drug addicts.

There is a big problem with narcotics in the area.

They are trying to find them before deciding what to do next.

What to think about? Drugs or no drugs. People who toss out their children should not have them back.

There is a big problem nationwide with narcotics, and Anutin just added to the problem

Awful, despicable human beings. I hope the little one somehow gets the chance for a good life.

Dumping children in rivers and bins is the Christian way.

Unbelievable statement! Please give examples! However, in China female babies were dumped/killed, this also happened in other Asian countries and is well recorded historically. Didnt the Spartan's do this with weak babies? Or was that just a movie...?....
