once again this year to help fight UK hunger and poverty'.

While billions are sent to Ukraine to fight Russia.

Excess deaths in UK are now 20.4% above 5 yr average.

From ONS gov.uk.

The NHS is collapsing.

The economy is managed by lunatics with war the only solution.

And it was minus 4 last night, come and enjoy.

And hunger and poverty is much more prevalent in Thailand and  Thailand just has a very basic "NHS" and we cannot really comment on Thailand's leadership  .    The air is becoming unbreathable

  • The UK has quite a generous benefit system - there`s no excuse for anyone going hungry . Poor money management is probably the cause .

The air is becoming unbreathable now and it will soon be unbearably hot .

Why cant you guys just be happy in Thailand , rather than just criticising the UK all the time ?

most govts are doing a lot of positive things.

streets are mostly safe.

society is reasonably functional.

'poverty' is a relative thing.

a lot of people are trying to live like the freakin' Kardashians.

If you think you can survive on £70 a week on unemployment benefit with food costs going up along with heating costs on average £2500-3000 you are joking...it's either food or heat for those breadline...generous...what a joke...

My UK place in 20/21 for gas/electric about £1700...now 22/23 it will hit £3000 a year for same useage.

Your theory is good, but in reality it doesn't pay,

thats why there are heaps of strikes all over the UK.

That is a temporary issue caused by the current  high inflation

That's because most lazy Brits only want to work 37 hours per week. 4 weeks paid holiday. All weekends off. No nights. All public holidays off. If they worked 12 hours a day, 6 days a week as many Thais do then there would not be a problem. Do what is necessary to support themselves and their families. There is always work for the workers. How many strikes are there in Thailand?

It was the Bank of  England  , it is their forecast , not a "flying pig"

Forecast to be back to 2 % inflation next year

A sentence from my link above from the BoE

"We expect inflation to fall back from the middle of next year, and be close to the 2% target in two years' time."

..in that case the forum would be closer to North Korea than an open forum for expression of opposing opinions ?

You are allowed to empress an opinion in writing  , but you cannot just sit there laughing at posts , to show your disapproval

It’s an expectation that is easily achieved.

Inflation is measured over a 12 month period.

In mid 2022 the inflation rate was calculated on the difference of mid 2021 (low prices) and mid 2022 (high prices) - large difference = high inflation.

In mid 2023 the comparison will be against mid 2022 high prices.

Putting aside some catastrophic event(s) inflation will have fallen, but prices will still be at their inflated level.

Almost all of the critics of the spending on the Ukraine are either left wing radicals from the 1970's that time has left behind, who pay little tax. On the contrary, they usually are of the people supported by the state, which puts their criticism in context.
