Thai Rath reported on a shooting incident in Pathum Thani north of the Thai capital Bangkok in which an 18 year old youth was shot in the street.

Lat Lum Kaew police arrived at 2am on the Pathum Thani to Lat Lum Kaew Road at KM marker 26/500 where Assanee "Joe" Phianha lay dead from a single gunshot wound to the ribs.

He was wearing a helmet and a Honda Wave was on its side.

A Honda Jazz with evidence of shots having been fired at was parked on the other side.

There was evidence of five shots having been fired.

A friend of the deceased, Theeradech, also 18, said a large group of friends had belatedly been celebrating Joe's birthday at his house.

They decided just after 1.30 pm to go out and get everyone some sticky rice and BBQ pork to eat.

On their way back he said that two men and a woman on two motorcycles on then other side of the road waved at them in a manner like they were challenging them.

They went to investigate what they wanted.

Then shots rang out.

Joe didn't realise he had been shot and got a sword and went for the people who had shot at him before collapsing dead.

The assailants then fled, said Theeradech.

Police said later in the day that they don't believe his story at all as investigations into what really happened continue.

The mere fact that he had a sword to get is enough for me. His death is no loss, he deserves no pity, one less thug on the streets. Now they just need to round up the shooter and give him or her a death sentence.

Ridiculous post.
