Transparent checkpoints ordered nationwide - uniforms/bodycams/ must be set up "for people's good"

They have yet to explain why checkpoints are so vital to their policing efforts, when they are used sparingly and only for very specific purposes in other countries. And why would pulling tourists out of a taxi and conducting a physical search ever be needed in cases where there was no suspicious behavior?

As the RTP are a part of the royal institute and ultimately answerable to the King why are these corrupt police not charged with lese majeste?

That's one of the reasons we have a camera in the car.  If stopped, I swivel the camera over to the cop.  Amazing how smooth things go if BIB Bob is being videoed.  Fyi, considering that motorcycles are prime targets for shakedowns, if I still lived in the city and drove my motorcycle (the best way to get around in Chiang Mai imho) I have a helmet mounted camera as well.  For farang driving MC I'd consider a helmet and a mounted camera to be top priorities.  It solves a lot of problems before they begin.

They have recently given a young man  20 years incarcerationfor protesting about the royal family on face book and there are people on a hunger strike protesting about the sentence . 

The six policeman charged with extracting 30000 baht from a foreigner seems a far more serious offence that would make them never see the light of day again in there lives if compared to saying a few words on facebook if your suggestion should be implemented .

Only once these swines are photographed and finger pointed, named with full name and address, fired on the spot - no honorable discharge, no transfer to "inactive" postings and nightly shows on TV of who got caught today ......... 

But as long as Khon Thai has not understood, that police and army are here for the people - and not the (present) opposite way - there is no hope for any changes.

I would suggest that any Tourist/Ex-Pat out there ensure they have helmets, insurance, Tax, do not speed. I expect the police on the street to arrest as many tourists as possible (who breach any law) charge them and fill up the jails. I would suggest people walk or get a taxi until it is determined how this will pan out.
