Krabi – Nine Swedish tourists have survived after a long-tailed boat capsized in Krabi.

The Head of the Than Bok Khorani National Park Mr. Weerasak Srisajjang stated to the Thai media that they were notified of the incident on Sunday (February 5th) near the Hong Island in the Khao Thong sub-district, Mueang Krabi.

From the link:  "It has been reported that the tourists were taking photos on one side of the boat which caused the boat to lean over. Water leaked into the boat before it capsized."

Long-tail boat flotation test - put 9 whales on one side to lean and take photos. Fail, needs new boat design.

I bet the poor owner doesn't have any insurance, probably would need to borrow money to buy a new one.

Tours with that kind of boats are the same as traveling with minivans.

These longtail boats are noisy and not very stable. Why are they still in use?

It said Krabi, not Phuket... Koh Hong is in the Krabi area.

It doesn't say it sank. Turn it over, bail it out, service the motor (maybe....!) and Bob's yer auntie..........
