Chinese Vice Consul in Phuket to Meet with Governor Following Chinese Tourist being Attacked by Tour Company Staffer

Phuket – A Chinese Vice Consul is in Phuket to meet with the Phuket Governor after a Chinese tourist was attacked with a knife by a tour staffer in Phuket, following a dispute over a refund.
 

Yesterday (February 7th) the Chinese Vice Consul arrived in Phuket to meet with the Phuket Governor Naroong Woonciew.

 

Governor Naroong apologized for the incident and updated the Vice Consul about legal actions that are being taken against the tour staffer. A police report has also been filed against the tour company over the incident and further legal charges are forthcoming, according to the Governor.

 

The Chinese Vice Consul Mr. Li Chenglong stated to the Governor and the Thai media, “We are satisfied with the quick conclusion to this incident by authorities and thank relevant Phuket agencies and leaders that immediately followed up on the issue.
